THE DIARY GAME: MY SUMMARY OF THE YEAR,2021// BY @young-ancient: 10% PAYOUT TO @STEEMALIVE
INTRODUCTION
Season greetings great Steemians, i remain @young-ancient and it's a always a pleasure for me to be able to post here in #steemalive community. Today is the last day of the year, 31st December,2021. I would like to share how the year went for me especially my memoriable experiences in this ending year,2021.
First of all, I give all glory and honor to Almighty Father for his presence in my life. I thank Him for his love, his mercy, favour and all the immeasurable blessings i have received from Him all through the year.
The year started like a joke because we were still experiencing lockdown. I really didn't plan for it at the beginning because I never knew when the lockdown will be over. It's sounds like a joke but it's true. That's was how I felt at the beginning of this year,2021.
MY MONTHLY EVENTS/EXPERIENCES
In JANUARY,2021, lockdown was declared over by the federal government and schools were allowed to be opened. Meanwhile in Benue State University, Makurdi, we started writing our second semester examinations in 2018/2019 session in March,2020 before the general Lockdown period.
So after the lockdown, students only resumed to continue with their exams. I was left with 3 courses to write then. I wrote my exams peacefully and my results was great, having a GPA of 3.78.
One of my memoriable experiences in January,2021, is my father's 60th birthday on 7th day of the month. 60 is a round figure and a unique age, so I planned taking my dad to photostudio to get good photos of him in his 60's. My Dad blurntly refused while selling the idea to him. He said he is old fashioned man and he doesn't like taking pictures. The whole family had to beg him while traveling to the village so we can get a recent picture. We finally got a chance to snap him while he was standing next to his car and immediately after snapping him, he got into his car and drove away....it was a hilarious moment trying to get my Dad to snap.
The month, FEBRUARY is my elder brother's birth month. On the 18th day of the month is always a blissful day not because there is always an arranged party but because it's my elder brother's birthday. I consider him to be my second Dad because he is way older than my siblings and I.
I don't forget his birthday no matter what just like he doesn't forgets mine. On a faithful day, I asked him why he can forget his own birthday and others and still remember mine, he answered me"it is because you are my first sibling at age 13". I felt really special hearing that and I feel same towards him. After that, nothing special happened in that month.
In MARCH, I experienced both good and bad events on the same day. The good one is my mum celebrated her 50th birthday this year on the 5th day of this month.
Mumcy( I normally call her) was looking gorgeous on her birthday. A little family gathering was held at home and our family members in town visited. Everyone was quite busy on that day.
Later in the afternoon, a childhood friend of mine, Terkuma, came to the house requesting for my phone to make a call for 10 minutes. I gave it to him believing that he shall return it safe and sound to me( this was because he had no phone at that time and most times he uses my phone to make his calls). He actually promised to return it in one piece. After five hours, I became worried for he stayed out too long. Around 9pm, he came back empty-handed that he lost the phone in a motor park. I was completely shocked hearing that. Different thoughts running through my mind at that point, Wondering how my parents will look at the situation.
Out of anger and fear of parents' reaction, I gave him 24-hr to return my phone (Tecno spark 2) and I ignorantly allowed him to peacefully leave my sight not knowing that, it was the last time of seeing his face. The next day, I saw no sign of him and I went to his house where I discovered that this so- called childhood friend of mine was into gambling( popularly called bet9ja). From there, I knew I was in serious trouble. I went back home and informed my parents about it.......Hmmmm, I received the insults of my life that day. The worst was that my Dad doubted my honesty and purity as his daughter questioning me about my relationship with Terkuma ( honestly, there's was nothing of such between us, I only knew him and his family since I was a kid and we became friends till we grew up and I trusted him because never did he on any account stole from me or cheat me). I was livid at my parent's reaction, how low they thought of me because of the incident. All I saw in their eyes were disappointment in me. All this drama, lasted for four good days before Terkuma's Dad returned my phone.( Those four days were one of the worst days in 2021). I personally don't see the need of holding grudges so I have forgiven Terkuma even though he never till date asked for it. This was the bad experience of March which started on my mother's birthday.
The next month, APRIL, we resumed school and by then, I was starting my first semester in 200Level. The level was quite a heavy task because the main foundational issues or statutes in law are treated/taught basically at this level where we offer courses like Law of contract, Nigerian Legal system, Constitutional law and others. I found it quite tasking for me to cope with the new arrangements but with time, I got used to it and I started reading and digesting easily what was taught in class.
Teaching/lecturing continued in MAY. On the 6th day was my younger sister's 13th birthday, we wished her well and celebrated her.On the 14th day, I fell sick and went to the hospital for medical check up. I was diagnosed with typhoid fever and malaria and I remember at that time, I was preparing for my Assessment Test in school. It's wasn't easy for me, taking drugs and battling with my tests in school. By his grace, all went well.
On the 22nd day of JUNE was birthday, I had no time to go out or any special plans because I was preparing for my semester exams which was to start on the 24th day. After the whole exams, I took myself out for my uncelebrated birthday. Hopefully the month ended peacefully.
Uhhhmmm.....I guess I can't remember any memoriable experience in the month of JULY but I remember God has been faithful so I'm thankful.
On the 22nd day of AUGUST, my mum, my elder brother, his wife and I attended the marriage ceremony of a family friend.
At the wedding, I met my friends there and we took a memoriable shot. This is because since that day, we haven't seen each other. It was a lovely day for myself, my family and friends.
School also resumed in this month.
Also on the 29th day of August,2021, I was invited for a service in a church called Glory Carriers Ministries International (GCMI), Makurdi. I honoured the invite by attending and I enjoyed the sermon delivered by PROPHET SIMON THOMAS (president of GCMI). From that time till date, anytime I'm opportuned, I attend service at GCMI to hear and understand more the accurate knowledge of God(the possession and actualization of that knowledge through prayer can change all things) I am happy to have found a family who truly understand the WORD OF GOD and reflects His glory here on earth.
In September, we celebrated my cousin and my younger brother's birthday respectively. School continued in the second semester where I resolved to learn from my mistakes in the last semester and earn better grades and also become good with the Law.
In the first week of OCTOBER, we had our second semester Assessment Test. I was glad I wrote better than my tests in the first semester. Next, we started rounding up the semester with final lectures and preparation for exams(This is the moment where both lecturers and especially students are tired and seriously wish for a week break).
Examinations started in the first week of NOVEMBER. We later finished the exams and went for 3 weeks break and resumed in December. One of the best memoriable event I witnessed is the Benue Steemit Conference which held on the 17th day of December,2021. Photo speaks below
We went for Christmas/New Year break on the 20th of DECEMBER,2021 and according to the school management, we ought to resume school on 3rd JANUARY,2022(and I find this really frustrating).
On "Christmos" day(as one of my lecturers would call it), I woke up as early as 4am to prepare food for the day. At 6:30am, we started Sharing our food in the neighborhood. I couldn't attend service because there was alot to tidy up at home and I didn't iron my Christmos clothes so I decided not to attend. By 10am I was done with the chores and I took bath and decided to watch movies instead. I watched movies till I slept off. I woke up late in the evening and I decided to take a stroll in the area and visit my friend. That's was how I spent my day.
CONCLUSION
I normally write my year's summary in my diary but today I decided to share it with my family @steemalive. I'm glad I did share. I wish us all a happy new year with more blessings from our Father,God.
