IVF helps people with infertility to have a baby
Reduce fertility in women over the age of 40
blocked or damaged Fallopian tube
Reduced ovarian functions
uterine fibroids
Infertility in males such as low sperm count or abnormalities in sperm shape
unexplained infertility.
Parents may also choose IVF if the run the risk of passing a genetic disorder unto their offspring. A medical lab can test the embryo for abnormalities, then a doctor only implants an embryos without genetic defects.
How to prepare for IVF
Before beginning IVF women will first undergo ovarian reserve testing, this involve taking a blood sample and testing it for the level.of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), the result of this test will give your doctor information about the size and quality of your eggs, the doctor will also examine the uterus .This may involve doing an ultrasound sound. This test can reveal the health of your uterus and helps the doctor to determine the best way to implant the embryos.
Men will need to have sperm testing, this involve giving a semen sample which a lab will analyze for the number, size and shape of the sperm , if the sperm are less in strength, an intracytoplasmic Sperm injection (ICSI) will.be required. During intracytoplasmic sperm injection, the sperm will be injected directly into the eggs by the technician.

How IVF is performed
There are five steps involve which are:
Stimulation: During a woman's menstrual cycle one a single egg is produced but IVF requires multiple eggs and so a woman is given some fertility drugs to boost the production of more eggs
Egg retrieval: This is a surgical operation performed with anesthesia it is other wise known as follicular aspiration.
Insemination: the male partner will now need to give a semen sample, the technician will mix the sperm with the eggs in a petri dish
Embryo culture: The doctor will monitor the fertilized eggs make sure they're dividing and developing
Transfer: When the embryos are matured they are moved for implantation, this usually takes place within three to five days after fertilization.
Complications associated with IVF
Miscarriage
ectopic pregnancy
Bleeding may occur
loss birth weight and premature birth may occur as a result of multiple pregnancy
Ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome (OHSS)
Conclusion
