Dailydiary || My Journey To Owerri - Sunday (31 October 2021) and Power-up in Support in Support to club5050

INTRODUCTION

Hello friends, how are you all today, I hope you are doing well and safe? This is an account of how my trip to owerri went. It happens that I got a new client who was referred to me by someone I have been making clothes for. This new client who is currently based at owerri invited me to come take his measurement and we agreed that I will visit on Sunday.

MY TRIP

So today, I woke up at about 5am and started preparing since I had agreed to meet this new client at about 8:30am. I left my house to park by 6:30. But then I needed to pick up a few items I will be needing from my shop. After which set out on my way.

When I got to rail from my shop, luckily I got a moving bus to Owerri, I entered for an agreed sum of 600 naira. They continued to collect passengers along Aba owerri road. Unfortunately, when we got to a certain bad spots on the road as shown below, the bus went off, while the driver was trying to start the car again, a truck loaded with condemned irons nearly collapsed on our own vehicle which made us scamper for safety. Soon after the driver and his conductor managed to drive the bus out of that bad spots, they said the fault was because the fuel level was low. As a result, we stopped at the nearest filling station and refilled the tank before we continued.

While on our way to owerri, in-between owerri and umuekaa, (off Enugu Port Harcourt experience way) we experienced some delay because a traffic jam caused by big trucks that had accident the previous day's.

Our driver who have been more frequent on the road told us that the number of the trucks tgat had account is up to 12. He said one of the drivers actually died from the accident. His own truck went against another truck with another truck while on top speed. Below are some of the gory pictures from the accident scene.

MY EVENING

I actually left owerri to Aba at about 2pm but unfortunately, I only arrived by 6pm because of the traffic situation on the road.
When i arrived home, I had my bath and relaxed a little, then I would up some soup from the fridge and prepared garry which u had for dinner.

After my dinner, I relaxed to bed and and continued seeing my movies to bed time. That was how my day went, thank you for stopping over my blog, am grateful.

CONCLUSION

From my personal observation, i think the cause if these accidents is the narrow nature of the road on which lots of tracks ply daily. The government should please swing into action and reconstruct the road possibly, convert it to dual carriage.

Then again, I think the first truck that had accident did not place the road signs to alert the on coming vehicle.

This is also to notify the general public that lots of trucks have been involved in accident on this route! You are therefore advised to use Aly routes or set out early so as to arrive early. Thank you for stopping by my blog, am grateful.
