Considering the current inflation rate we’re experiencing in the country, of which the cost of living in each state and locality varies, I must confess that the prices of food items and other commodities are quite fair here.

About Nung Udoe Market

Nung Udoe is a town in Ibisikpo-Asutan local government area of Akwaibom state. This town is not quite far from Uyo, which is the state capital.
This market is located at the heart of the town https://what3words.com. The market is quiet a big one.
This is not actually my first visit to the market, but prices of things in the market prompted this review.

Now let’s look at some things you can see in the market

Water leaf

This leaf is found virtually everywhere in the market, this is because the leaf is mostly used by people in the locality to prepare their local delicacies such as afang soup and vegetable soup.
According to the seller, the smaller sizes are sold #100(~ <1steem) for 3, while the bigger portions are sold for #100(~ <1steem) each.

Smoked Fish

This fish is one fish I can’t do without. I use it for preparing jellof rice and porridge beans.
The big sizes of this fish is sold for #300(~ 2steem) while the small sizes are sold for #250(~ <2steem).

Stock fish

Stock fish is also very affordable, I bought some stock fish today and I used it to prepare my vegetable soup.
Each of the stock fish in the picture above is sold for #300 (~ 2steem)

Cow Meat

Unlike some markets I’ve visited, the price of cow meat in Nung Udoe market is not fixed and their price is pocket friendly. They go as far as selling cow meats for #200 (~ <2steem).

Vegetable Leaf

Vegetable leaf is also everywhere in the market just like the water leaf.
The price is based on the desire of the customer, but the minimum price is #50 (~ <1)

Cocoyam

Cocoyam is commonly used for the preparation of native soup,
In Nung Udo market, the price is based on customers choice.

Fresh Pepper

Even as fresh pepper is costly presently, with #100 (~ <1steem), you could buy the shaded ones in the picture above.

Note; There are several other things sold in the market which I couldn’t capture.

My Rating For Nung Udoe Market

In terms of location, the market is very easy to locate and rainy season has no effect on this market.
The price of things in the market is pocket friendly and the buyers are always allowed to buy according to their desired amount.
