Hello my fellow steemians I am very grateful to God for making me witness today.
Am here to discuss about the old ways of Marriage and the present Days. I am sure someone will be wondering what is this person going to talk about Years back then before I was born I was meant to understand that people get married early compared to what is happening now. Things where even better compared to now.
HOW DOES THE RELATIONSHIP REALLY START.
You see I will have to discuss about how this is done in the south south part of Nigeria in Ondo state.
You see when a man see a lady he likes her he will go close to her makes friends with her gradually.
Some occasions many people will have eyes for that same lady at night all of them will go to her trying to confess their love for her. One mistake they don't do is allowing their parents to see them while talking. In many occasions she will be busy helping her mother out in the kitchen and they will be waiting for her for several hours just to talk to her.
When she finally comes out they will keep talking to her one after the other. Their talks with her might take several hours before she goes to bed probably 10pm or 11pm.
HOW DOES THEIR MARRIAGE START
You see when the lady finally agrees with the man they will fix a date when she will follow him to his house at night or his friends help him bring her to his house. When this is done as early as possible in the following day the man will have to organise three guys who will go tell the parents of the lady that their daughter is with them. In most cases they will still believe their daughter is still sleeping. But when they go ahead to check they will confirm it is true. Parents of many will start crying because their beloved daughter is leaving them some will even tell them to go bring their daughter.
At this point the three guys who went to inform them of this development will have to take along one bottle of schnapp and once this is accepted by the father there is nothing the mother can do.
AFTER THE FATHER ACCEPTS THE WINE WHAT IS NEXT?
After the acceptance this three men will keep coming along with the traditional rights until every thing is done once all is done they will ask them to fully come for the final blessing of the marriage where many will gathered to bless the occasion.
MEDICAL ASPECTS (GENOTYPE MARCH)
You this people do not even consider whether or not they match each other Genetically they just pick any lady and start a family with them. Many of the couples do match but any one who doesn't match they keep accused of killing their children without knowing the major reasons behind it.
WHAT IS THE PRESENT DAY Ways.
They will introduce their self to each other parents before fixing a date for the marriage palms get to know each other family more. But
in this present days many people are still making the mistake of not finding out their genotype matches before getting to date each other for long. Off course those are the less educated people who do not see the importance of checking if they and their partner are eligible to marry each other. It is very important to that during the time you are still talking to her know about her genotype to be sure you can continue courting her. Because this will be very bad if after she has agreed and you don't match. So it is better to be safe in the first place.
WHO AND WHO CAN MARRY EACH OTHER
It is very important that you have idea of who you can marry you and whom you can marry.
We have few types of genotype.
- AA
- AS
- AC
- SC
COMPATIBILITY OF EACH GENES
AA can marry AA
AA can marry AS
AA can marry AC
AA can marry SC
AA can marry SS with proper management. This two people will only produce AS genotype.
AS cannot marry AS, this two will produce AS and SS that is why it not adviseable to allow them marry.
SS cannot marry As, this two will also produce AS and SS too.
So be careful of the untested marriage you might fall into error.
Remember if you are dating anyone go and test yourself and be sure you are good together.
