INTRODUCTION
A child can defined as an individual who falls in the age bracket of 0-13 years old. At this age the child needs proper guidance, care and supervision for the child to grow and develop.
Obviously everything is not easy, getting married is not funny, getting a child is not easy and training the child through the various stages of development is also not easy.
While training a child as psychologist have studied the various stages involved in child DEVELOPMENT, we have also come to see some basic factors that affect child DEVELOPMENT.
FACTORS AFFECTING CHILD DEVELOPMENT.

Basically there are two factors affecting child DEVELOPMENT, if you just know this congratulations, this two factors spread out to make the other factors you think. This factors from studies affects child development positive or negatively, below are the factors :
- NATURAL FACTORS / BIOLOGICAL FACTORS / INTERNAL FACTORS:
As the name implies natural factors refers to the genes the child inherited from the parents or grand parents, when children come from tall parents, the end up tall because of the traits. Some children are shot because their parent are shot or their grand parents are shot.
Thefair complexion of some children is because one of their parents are fair in complexion. Some kids are dark in complexion because they inherited that traits from their parents.
Some children have open teeth because of their parents have open teeth. Some Kids can be very sick because of their parents gene. And some parents are never sick and so they also give birth to very strong healthy kids.
- NURTURE FACTORS / EXTERNAL FACTORS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
This are factors affecting child development which come from the environment the child is living. The are called environmental factors. Some kids are arrogant because of the rugged environment in which they find themselves, some children look dirty and darker because of the area the grew up in.
NOW LET TALK ABOUT THE CONTROVERSY AMIDST THIS TWO FACTORS .
When we look at the factors affecting child development we are TEMPTED to ask which factor affects the child more, the biological factor or the environmental factors?
The above question has been there for long, some children are born with an intelligent gene but end up foolishly intelligent because, If a man walks with 4 wise men he will be the 5th wise Man. But if a man walks With 4 foolish men even if you are BORN intelligent you end up the 5th foolish man.
Some children develop some bad habits like fighting or eating fast because of the environment the are born into.
Some children though are born with a shot gene but through care and love end u tall.
one could contribute positive to child development by start taking care of the child from attending Anti -Natal cares and proper feeding. Some times stunted grownt is a function of poor nutrition not genes.
Parents most watch out for those uncles and anties who speak to our kids, because they kids will eventually end up as the people they keep hearing.
