It's with great joy that I welcome you all to my blog once again. And today you would be seeing with the five meals I ate within this week.

Meal 1: Lunch: Vegetable Soup With Garri and Orange Drink

I love eating garri, it's one of my favorite foods especially with vegetable soup. I had this particular meal for lunch and it was so delicious.

Makeup of The Meal

I like the meal because it is a complete balanced diet as it contains the essential nutrients which the body needs. It's also yummy, you will see digestable starch, vitamin C, dietary fibre from the garri, sodium, calcium, potassium, magnesium copper iron etc from the ugba, protein from the beef, vitamins A, B2, C & E, calcium, iron, potassium etc from the vegetable and lots more. Also salt, onion, pepper, crayfish, palm oil, water, seasoning cube were part of the ingredients.
It was I, chef @luchyl who prepared the meal and I spent ₦2,500 (23.34 steem) because I had other ingredients at home. The okro and vegetable were from my little farm which I shared here sometime ago.

Meal 2: Dinner: Fried Potatoes With Pap

Any day, anytime I can drink pap called akamu in my dialect and that's why I had it with fried potatoes as dinner.
I prepared the meal.

Makeup Of The Meal

Akamu is highly nutritious as it contains Vitamins B1, B2, B3 & B5, Iron, Calcium, carbohydrates, fats etc all these needed for strong bones and sharp brain. Potatoes also has beta carotene, vitamins, calcium, thiamin, phosphorous etc
There's also vegetable oil used in frying the potatoes, and honey, milk for the pap.
So a combination of pap and akamu is the real deal, it's delicious, healthy and nutritious.
My likeness for akamu has been from childhood and till date, I can't love it less. I remember my mom told me that akamu is usually the only food I eat whenever I was sick and it's like a medicine for me. Well I guess that's why I still like taking it🤔
I equally prepared the meal. I spent ₦650 (6.07 Steem) on buying the pap and potato.

Meal 3: Lunch: Jellof Rice Garnished With Cucumber

Aha!, I know there are so many here whose favorite meal is rice. Well I like rice too especially party jellof because of the unique taste it usually gives due to the ingredients used in preparing it Also it's loaded with healthy carbs which help in energy build up. No wonder some people usually feel energized after eating it.

Makeup Of The Meal

Rice contains monosaturated and polysaturated fats, protein, sodium, potassium, copper, dietary fibre which prevents constipation and helps in cleaning the large intestine, etc.
The ingredients used in preparing the meal are;

  • Fresh tomatoes which helps to reduce the risk of cancer and heart disease,
  • Onion a great source of vitamins and fiber which helps in regulating blood sugar and prevents indigestion.
  • Pepper for boosting immune as it contains vitamin C,
  • Vegetable oil which has vitamins E & K which helps in body heat regulation and makes the heart look healthy.
    The other ingredients like ginger, garlic, thyme, curry which are spices, and of course crayfish, salt, all have many nutritional values
    The cucumber isn't left out as it's has fiber, potassium and vitamins etc.
    The meal was prepared by me and I bought some ingredients that weren't available for ₦3,000 (28 steem)

Meal 4: Breakfast: Bread Spread With Margarine And Tea

It's been a while since I ate bread so I decided to have it with tea as breakfast.

The Makeup Of The Meal

Bread is high in carbohydrates and calories, with some amount of protein, fibre, vitamins, iron, calcium and other micronutrients. Since I learnt about the high content of carbs and calories, I rarely take it, moreover it's extremely costly these days.
I liked the meal because it helped keep my body warm as it was cold that morning. Also the margarine gave the bread a yummy delicious taste.
I bought the bread for ₦700 (6.54steem) and the milk ₦1800 ().

Meal 5: Dinner: Fruit Salad

Of all the meals I shared here, this fruit salad is the one I enjoyed most. It was so yummy that even the organisms in my stomach leaped for joy when they received their own share.😂

Makeup Of The Meal

This is a simple meal of fruit and nut combinations which are;
*Fresh groundnut which I cooked. Groundnut is a rich source of protein, monosaturated fats, dietary fiber, vitamins, niacin, copper, manganese, biotin, folate etc

  • Banana which has vitamin B6 & C, potassium, fiber, sugar etc
  • Pawpaw which is high in vitamins, iron, magnesium, copper, manganese etc. It helps in the digestive process.
  • Waterman and cucumber all have considerable amount of vitamins A, magnesium, potassium, fibre, etc and help keep the body hydrated.
  • Carrot and beetroot have fibre, sugars, sodium, protein etc.
  • Milk is a diary product which has calcium, zinc, selenium, phosphorous, vitamins etc.
    I love eating fruits because they are nutritious, healthy and yummy. The cost of getting the meal ready is about ₦750 (7 steem)

You will love it more when you eat it, but be ready for sleep cos it will definitely make you sleepy. 😂. The beetroot there is a sleeping medicine oo, though for me.

As a man if you eat salad in the night You will wake up by 1am to look for another food. Hahahaha. Better eat garri and soup at night .

I must say that this post is rich in content. I am a poor cook but now I will follow@luchyl to be better. As a matter of fact I don't know how to combine ingredients to make my food a balanced diet. I am always busy. I travel a lot for which reason I eat whatever is available anywhere I go. I know it is bad but there's nothing I can do. Good food builds the body. @luchyl has just taught me how to prepare it. I have developed interest in cooking and will give my wife a run for her money.

My goodness!! All these foods looks so yummy and appetizing. Please my friend, I need some of the pap and potatoes oooo🤪🤪. I love the way you arranged it. Am still a newbie, I wish I could learn like you someday.

You are really enjoying healthy food, that's why you look healthy and beautiful, when I saw 2500 for vegetable soup I wanted to beg you to help me buy somethings from your area because that quality of vegetable soup can never be prepared with 2500 in my end but I understood better when I read down, the good thing is that you have your vegetables fresh, they will so sweet.

Yes it was really delicious. I like fresh vegetables that's why I had to plant some in my little farm, and I'm enjoying it.
