Introduction

Greetings my lovely friends, how are you all doing today??? I believe everyone is doing great and enjoying this new month. Wow, this contest made me to remember a very wonderful moment,though not all that pleasing but I mean when I think about it now all I do is to smile because I believe that the strong person I am today is traceable to the event of 2016. We all had this particular memory that we can't just let go of either a good one or a bad one, so here is my own story of a very special period of my life in the past.

It all started with a very shocking story of the death of my sponsor who is my grandfather at that time, followed by my uncle who also assist me with school fees and lots of other fees in school, wow such a sad event happening at a point when I needed the both of them the most. Just three months to the deadline of writing WAEC so that I can be a certified SSCE holder and my sponsors died. The whole family focused on making arrangements for the burial hence the need for a pause in my education occured but I so much love education,then I started looking for alternative option. This was how I became a teacher,hahahahaa.

The interview/getting the job

As one of the smart students in school then, being the chapel prefect I had access to some of the teachers and CORPERS serving in my school at that time so I told one of the corper by name Mr Uzoma and he told me about a friend of his that just started a School project if I have interest of teaching there and I was glad so on the day of the interview I went there with the corper and my good friend the Senior prefect at that time. The picture above was taken on the day of the interview. At the interview, too many questions and expectations was demanded by the school proprietor but with the influence of the corper I passed and resumed work the next day as an assistant class teacher in lower Basic 2. After a week of serving as the assistant class teacher, I became a full classroom teacher and as a result to this I had to quite my own school and registered for evening lessons.

Balancing teaching and preparing for the external exam

Striving a balance between my work as a teacher and studying ahead of my exams was almost impossible because at a point I nearly broke down mentally, don't forget that the burial plans for two people were still going on and I have a part to play as well but I was able to strike a balance in the two because both of them involves studying and reading. It involves too many sleepless nights because I will have to mark the pupils homework, prepare lesson notes,do my own home work from lesson and also read against the next day. Looking at the pictures below you will understand the stress back then;

How it ended

After doing the work for three months, I was able to get enough money to register for my WAEC examination and then decided to quite work but the students and their parents has already gotten used to me that they had to tell the school authority not to let me go for the sake of their children so I got stock at the middle of going entirely and coming back after my exams. Finally, I went for my exam and after one month of writing the exam I came back to the school while I await for my result and finally by September my result came out and I came out one of the best in my class then.

I scored an A, 3Bs and 5Cs in on sitting which means I had a good result and still have my job until the day I decided to quit the job. It was really a moment for me but the lessons of that experience kept me and made me who I am today.

Conclusion

I will like to make us to understand that no matter the situation we face in life at a particular time there is always a solution if we look deep and please don't allow something you cannot solve stop you from attempting what you can solve. I couldn't have handled the burial of my dead family members neither can I bring them back to life but I can do something to complete my SSCE without them. At the most tough moment is the best time to act.
