CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF ABA CELEBRATES FATHER'S DAY

Aba Diocesan Catholic men's organisation (CMO) celebrated her annual father's Day on Sunday 1st may 2022.
At Blessed Tansi Catholic chapel 100 MCC road Aba, the event started with a football competition.The competition started by April with preliminary matches between different CFA groups
The final match was played on Saturday 30th April 2022 at the Covenant Polytechnic Aba football field.

The winners

In the final match, St Christopher and St Francis combined team defeated other teams to win the trophy. N20,000 was giving to the winners. N15,000 and N5,000 was given to the second and third position respectively.Gifts were also given to the highest goal scorer and best goal keeper of the tournament.
Other events were held on Sunday 1st May 2022.

The events of 1st May 2022

It started with a Mass celebrated by Very Rev Fr.(Dr) Kelechi Anyanwu, with Rev. Frs. Henry and Emma in attendant.

After the Mass, the event was shifted to the church premises.After the opening prayer by the former CMO president Tansi chapel, the chairman of the occasion made his opening remarks.
Kolanut was presented and was blessed by an indigene of the area as demanded by tradition.
In the beauty contest,Bro Paulinus Umeh from St Michael's CFA won the first position. Bro Philip Odoemenam of St Christopher's CFA took the second position. Bro Emma from Prince of peace CFA won the third position.
Each of the three winners got N10,000 cash from the Chairman of the occasion.
The egg race competition could not hold due to some logistical issues.
After the competitions, it was time for entertainment.The parishioners and visitors both adults and children are and drank to their satisfaction.
St Joseph's CFA Igba ndi Eze cultural music entertained the audience during the offertory in Mass and throughout the entire celebration.

The end

After all the events and celebration, the chairman of the occasion, bro Anyanwu gave his
closing remarks and closing prayer was said by the priest in charge of the Chaplaincy Fr Kelechi, and people left for their various homes.
To the glory of God, it was a happy and joyous celebration.

Sport as the food for our body Catholic church do acknowledge that , it's not only hymns and good gospel praise , worship and thankgiving songs , to lift and feed the soul . It as well about sport to give our body they needed physical strength and fitness.
