Prowriters Hub week 004/My budget for this week and estimate of how much I will spend in the next 7days.
Introduction
A budget keeps you in track to be able to achieve some of your long term goals. Most people think that budget is not necessary but due to economy of the country, budget needs to be estimated inorder to save for emergency situation.
Hello friends, will be talking about my budget for the week, stay turned.
My budget for this week
Growing up, I learnt one thing from my mum which is buying foodstuffs in bulk. Each month I budget how much I will take to market for my foodstuffs and get them. My budget for my foodstuffs is usually NGN20,000 (100 steem). I will get some of following.
- A cartoon of indomie NGN6000 (30 steem)
- 5 spaghetti which cost NGN500 (2.5 steem) for each which is NGN2500 (12.5 steem)
- Sachet tomatoes NGN450 ( 2.5 steem)
- Groundnut oil NGN1200 ( 6 steem)
- Garri one pant NGN1100 (5.5 steem)
- Egusi half pant NGN1200 (6 steem)
- Beans half pant NGN2000 (10 steem)
Then the remaining money I will use it to get some perishable foodstuffs which I will use to make stew and soup for the week. Some of the items.
- Meat NGN1000 ( 5 steem)
- Fresh tomatoes NGN400 (2 steem)
- Fresh pepper NGN100 (0.5 steem)
- Onions NGN200 (1 steem)
- Spices NGN200 (1steem)
- Vegetables NGN100 ( 0.5 steem)
- Stock fish NGN500 (2.5 steem)
This will be my main food for the week, after my purchase the money have already exhausted and may need some extra cash to complete to get some items. Within the week I may decide to eat some other foods, may purchase them from a nearby retail store.
Monday budget
My budget for Monday, I will have to go to work which will cost me NGN400 (2 steem) for both to and fro.
My money for food for that day could cost NGN500 (2.5 steem) due to I already have foodstuffs and may purchase some little stuff from retail shop.
Money for airtime could cost me NGN100 (0.5 steem)
Tuesday budget
My budget for tuesday,money for transport NGN400 ( 2 steem).
Money for data NGN500 ( 2.5 steem)
Wednesday budget
My budget for Wednesday, money for transportation which will cost NGN400 ( 2.5 steem)
Money for food NGN500 (2.5 steem)
Money for ice cream which is done once in a week NGN1500 (7.5 steem)
Thursday budget
My budget for Thursday, money for transportation which will cost NGN400 (2.5 steem)
Money for food NGN500 ( 2.5 steem)
Money for airtime NGN200 ( 1 steem)
Friday budget
Money for transportation which will cost NGN400 ( 2 steem)
Money for airtime NGN100 (0.5 steem)
Saturday budget
Saturday is for cleanups and going to market to get some items for my week food. I will budget some of the following items for cooking soup and stew.
- Fresh tomatoes which will cost NGN400 (2 steem)
- Fresh pepper which will cost NGN100 (0.5 steem)
- Spices NGN200 ( 1 steem)
- Meat NGN1000 ( 5 steem)
- Stock fish NGN300 (1.5 steem)
- Bread at futo cafe which will cost NGN1200 (6 steem)
Sunday budget
Money for transportation for going for Sunday service NGN200 ( 1steem). Money for offering is also budgeted too. That's my daily expenses, which is slightly high to my income which means I spend 75% of my income and could just save 25% which is low due to the economic situation of the country I still try to manage within my means and still leave some neccisities such as wears, shoes, hair,makeup and so on.
Reason why you need a budget
- A budget makes you to focus on your needs for the moment and take care of your wants later.
- A budget makes you to give scale of preference to the most pressing needs.
- Budget makes you to save more instead of spending recklessly on things that doesn't matter.
- Budget makes you to prepare for emergencies like sickness, accident and so on.
- Budget helps you to achieve a long time goals. Map out some goals and how much it will cost, save some amount from income and make your dreams a reality.
- Budget could make you get that business for your retirement period.
- Budget helps you from reckless spending.
- Budget helps you to save more.
Conclusion
Budget is really important and should be curtail in every home, to be able to save money instead of spending recklessly. They won't teach this in school just part of informal education and even if you are still under your parents guidance you should know how to budget for your needs and save more and be happy.

Going to have estimate if income and expenditure. it's importance cannot be over emphasized. It keeps a person from wasting your resources but can it be adjusted upwards if earning rose above the estimated income?

Yes you are right price is fluctuating of steem but it is just a estimate or mock budget

This is super impressive your budget. One thing I love about your arrangement is that you made a complete week's budget of food items. That means you will buy them in bulk. Making such bulk purchase for food items save cost and also time. Your workplace is not too far from your home as it costs you around NGN400 to go and come back. I spend NGN500 and take 2 drops to get to my office and back home.
