Steemit Engagement Challenge - Official Application for Steemalive Community
Introduction
I am delighted to write this application on behalf of SteemAlive community for Steemit Engagement Challenge. This really a cool contest almost designed for our community. SteemAlive is known for engagement, and our users will easily remember many of our projects both current and past that are designed with engagement in mind. Before I go on to write more on engagement, let me introduce you once more to this great community called SteemAlive.
The Purpose of SteemAlive Community
SteemAlive community is 100% a promotion, recruitment and mentorship community. In our mission statement, we explained tha we wish to take Steemit to every doorstep. Till this day, we have lived up to our mission statement. We do Steem Promotion fulltime. We recruit new users, mentor them and assist them to become established bloggers on Steemit.
A brief history of SteemAlive Community
Steemalive community was started by @focusnow, with a team of 5 persons out of whom only two @beckie96830 and @mesonia are still active. The community was founded on 12th July, 2020. SteemAlive has stuck to its mission of taking Steemit to every doorstep - We are 100% into Steem Promotion. Our recruitment and Promotion campaigns have yielded great results. For example, some of the Nigerians that became great on Steemit like @ngoenyi, @whitestallion, @beckie96830, @ijelady, and others too numerous to mention are all products of SteemAlive community. We have produced CR's, Academy professors, etc.
We continue to give newbies a place to kick off from with many projects that have assisted them to learn about Steemit from basic to advanced. Our weekly mentorship classes have been the first point of call for newbies to increase their knowledge of Steemit. Till this day, we continue to Promote steemit, recruit and mentor newbies.

Community Account Details
SteemAlive main account is @steemalive. We acknowledged the importance of building this account so that it can be used to support our members well. One way we build the account is by contantly powering up. In 2022 alone, we have powered up more than 7000 SP. just few communities have done that. Below is our

Apart from powering up most of the community post earnings, we have also received some delegations from our members. Unlike other communities where rewards are paid to delegators, steemalive does not pay anyone as our delegators are happy members of our community. Their delegation is voluntary. So we call on more volunteers and encourage friends to Delegate, in this way we grow our Sp.
Finanlly, we have a project called #all4one. Volunteers are encouraged to donate a post to SteemAlive each week. Happily, many are doing that by setting the post to pay 100% of its rewards to the community. This helps us to earn more, power up and grow our account.
For the community keys, the posting key is held by @focusnow and @samuel20 to help with posting community updates. The active key and owner keys are held by @focusnow.
Current Policy on Engagement
We have a lot of structures in place for commenting and checking on posts. They are as follows:
Moderators are tasked with checking all posts made in the community to make sure they are at least in club5050, steemexclusive, bot-free and plagiarism free. They also use that opportunity to make useful comments after rating the post.
We encourage members to engage with others. Our contests require members to engage properly as we usually count the number of engagements as part of the winning criteria.
We have launched several projects that are designed entirely for engagement. The one we are currently doing is called 5Times7. This project rewards all that supports top selected posts by commenting on them. You can read more about it here.
How we help users improve their Posts
As the foremost community admin, I lead from the front when it comes to showing what a quality posts looks like. Publishing quality posts regularly has been a practical way to show members what makes a post quality. Besides, I organize weekly mentorship classes where the community leaders make presentations on how to make quality posts. Here is a banner of the one we did recently:
From time to time, I also publish articles on how to improve aspects of a post. For example, this one explains how to use images properly in a post.
Additionally, we have various city groups besides the general classroom. Our Team Coordinators who are in charge of their various cities ensure that members are helped to make better and quality posts - especially, the newbies. Generally, the quality of publications in SteemALive are great because of all these measures we have put in place to ensure that there is quality publication in the community.
Reasons why SteemALive should be considered for this Project
SteemALive is built on the very principles of engagement. We have always had one engagement project or the other because we believe it is an undeniable part of content creation. Below are some of our efforts:
LID reporting: We ran this project for a greater part of 1 year. It was fun and engaging. Our members used it to develop the habit of always replying posts and continuing conversations.
SteemAlive Engagement League: We used this project to reward the top engaging members of the community. This project was discontinued after we introduced 5Times7
5Times7: This is our current engagement project. Members participate by commenting on every top 5 posts selected for the day. In a week, each member is expected to deliver at least 35 rich comments. Click here to see last weeks winners.
Contests: Another name for all our weekly contests is engagement. Yes, we require all contest participants to engage with posts in the community and this is a major winning criteria. Here is our last weeks contests winners announcement. Engagement is a must to win.

- Telegram Post Promotion group: Before users are allowed to drop their own links, they are mandated to make at least 2 rich comments on the posts of other users. Our group admins enforce this rule by restricting users that fail to do so or even removing them from the groups.
- @steem-alive: We also use our curation trail account to drop comments on users who posts has been supported by the community curation trail account.

A little short-coming
We have not done too well in using the main community account @steemalive to drop quality comments on users posts. This is a pplace we have identified as a week poit. We have already started working on this to ensure that all top 5 posts and other posts receive not just votes, but also comments from the main community account. Every community has its onw weak point. I acknowledge this for Steemalive and promise to speedily address it.
Conclusion
On a general note, we have done lots of things excellently well to deserve a place in this engagement project. We look forward to doing more as we expect to be selected for this project.

I have been waiting for this application to be made.Steemalive has remained the greatest in recruitment and mentorship.
In terms of engagement,there are weekly contests where number of engagement made by participants is one of the criteria for selecting winners,there is also 5Times7 project where members that commented on all the selected posts through out the week are rewarded.Moderators too are engaging in comments daily.I believe Steemalive knows her onus and will do more as regards to engagement.

Truly, engagement is like a food to steemalive community. Just as one cannot live without food, so also, steemalive cannot ignore or dampens members zeal over engagement. Initially, all i cared for is just to post. But with the help of this community, i have come to know the importance of engagement in this platform. To be honest to the steemit family at large, not only the steemalive community, you can testify with all the pictures above how serious we are, about engagement, we even have a running project that supports engagement, which we like to call #5times7. @steemalive really deserve a chance in the engagement project.

The @Steemalive has stood as a mother community for a lot of steemians from Nigeria as it has housed so many. Engagement in the community has been a major part of the community and it's very important to keep it going.

The best attribute of @steemalive community is engagement, the project of #5times7, commenting to other peoples contest post all this made engagement to be a priority in this assiduous community.
