Newbies Guide: What type of Content can I publish on Steemit? How Do I start writing?
Introduction
Just as we are running the Promotion project Food4thought, the first question newbies usually ask after learning about Steemit is: What type of things can I write and publish. The answer usually is that Steemit accepts all original content on any topics. For someone with a basic background in content creation, this might sound simple. But for majority of our newbies that are not into writing before, they usually want to know specifically - and if possible see examples - the kind of content we are talking about. So this post will make sense if you are a newbie looking for specific examples of what to write. Before then, here are a few things you need to bear in mind first about your write-ups.
Few Tips on making great Content
Before we see specific examples of the type of content you can make and publish, here are general requirements of Steemit publications which new users should bear in mind:
Be Original: You are only allowed to publish your own work. Do not copy content from the internet or from anywhere and publish as your own. Try to use your own pictures too.
Length of Publication: Your articles should be detailed. Make sure your write-up is at least 300 words. Use this word counter to check.
Be patient and Consistent: Do not feel you cannot write great article. you start from somewhere - from making your first post. So take your time and gather your thoughts well. For people writing for the first time, its better to write in a notebook first before typing.
The above short reminders will help you as a newbie to make a great first post. Now lets go straight into the type of publication you are allowed to make.
Examples of Quality Posts you can make on Steemit
Like I said at the beginning, Steemit accepts any quality posts on any topic of choice whether it is health, sports, nature, technology, science, lifestyle, art, poetry, handicraft, money, finance, business, love, family, etc. There is no end to the number of different topics you can write on. Now for the sake of being specific, I will show 10 examples of quality posts on different topics. I will explain what the post is all about and how to make it.
1. Diary Post
What is it?: Diary post is a detailed story of how you spent your day. It is usually written at the end of the day. By that time, you must have done many things or gone to many places, so you have a story to tell. A dairy posts is usually divided into morning activities, afternoon activities and evening activities.
How to do it? First, you need to take pictures of some of your activities within the day. Then at the end of the day, you can write your diary and include the pictures. Try to be detailed and tell us your activities from morning when you woke, till evening when you slept. It is suggested you use not more than 4 images in your diary post.

2. My town in 10 Pictures
What is it? This post makes you a city tour guide. So all you need to do is to capture images from 10 different locations in your city and write about what those locations are. This post is an opportunity for you to show the reader what your city looks like.
How to do it? Start by capturing real images of different locations in your city. Then when you are done cathering the images, you can start to write the post. Briefly describe what each location is.

3. Local Business Review Post
What is it? In this post, you will write about a business in your area. You will focus on the goods or services rendered by the business. Include details like prices, customer behaviour, business location and other things.
How to do it? Start by visiting a local business and shop. Its better to start with shop or businesses owners you know, like your own, family member or friends. These ones will allow you to take photographs of their goods. Ask them about the prices, and the goods that are customers favourites. Then use the information and pictures you gathered to write the business review post.

4. Science/Technology Post
What is it? This type of post is all about any aspect of science or technology. It usually requires basic knowledge of that area and doing research to gain deeper understanding of it. You can even write about how to use certain technologies or how some aspects of science works.
How to do it? Make sure you know a little about the subject. Be sure to do research to widen your understanding. These kind of posts are technical, so make sure you have sufficient and accurate knowledge of what you want to write.

5. Food Preparation Post
What is it? If you love food and have some great skills on how to prepare food, why not teach us. You can write how to prepare local or international dishes.
How to do it? Get all your ingredients ready and snap them. Then as you cook and demonstrate each step, capture it too. When the food is ready, also capture it. Then make a post about the entire process.

6. Health/Wellness Post
What is it? In this type of post, you give verifiable information on health matters. You can write about the beneficial use of some drugs, fruits, exercise or other things that can improve health.
How to do it? Only write something that is true and verifiable. If you are not a health personnel, do not give any prescription or medical advice. Be original and factual.
Real Example If you want to do a health or wellness post, here are two great examples to follow.
7. Steem Promotion Post
What is it? Steem Promotion post documents some organized activities to promote Steem in your city. When you participate in any organized Steem promotion activity, you can write about it.
How to do it? Join a group in your city and promote Steemit such as by sharing fliers or speking to people about Steemit. take while doing this activity and then write about it afterward.

8. Cryptocurrency Posts
What is it? If you know little about cryptocurrencies, you can write about them. Cryptocurrency related topics aim to share the knowledge or skills required to manage cryptos.
How to do it? Gather all the materials you need such as screenshots and charts. Again be sure to make research so that you will publish accurate and verifiable information.

9. Motivation/Life lessons Posts
What is it? You can still write about lessons we can learn in life. Also, motivational articles seems to inspire people to take positive actions to better their lives.
How to do it? Be real in writing your story. Make sure you have a point to prove. Be positive. Use real life examples or experiences. Use original images.
Real Example
10. Contest Post
What is it? A contest posts gives you topic to write on and you stand a chance to win big prices. The Contest topic could be any of the above 9 topic categories or something else.
How to do it? Read the contest post very well and make sure to follow every detail. If something is now clear to you, ask a question in the comment section of the post. Do your best in the contest and you will probably win a top prize.
Real Example: We will show you an example of a contest annoucement post. You can check the comment section for entries by participants of the contest.
Conclusion
I hope that this post gives you a lot of things you an idea of things you can write about. This is not an exhaustive list though. There are many other categories of posts you can write. The most important thing is to choose a topic that many people would love to read. And be original and detailed in your publiscations. Gradually you will become a successfull writer on Steemit.
Note: For each of the posts you wish to write, there are tags that must be used. Check this post for the right tags. Your mentor will explain more to you how tags work and how they are used in posts.
I thought we are told not to write the percentage and username at the tittle. Pls sir explain more because am seeing percentage set at the tittle.

I have actually been verified in the community but my introduction post got no single attention so I thought maybe the community isn't active. That was last year though but decided to check you guys out now and guess there's been lots of improvements.
