Club5050 - Answers to 8 frequently asked questions about the project.
Introduction
The buzz around #club5050 has been on in the last 24 hours. You must have heard about the invitation to start powering up at least half of your liquid earnings to get support from @steemcurator01. Yes, the idea behind the #club5050 is to have a corresponding value of steem powered up and steem transfered away from your wallet. Basically, if you sold 100 steem within a 7 day period for example, you must power up at least 100 steem within that period. The #club5050 is really a nice initiative, but there are lots of questions that need answers. From the discussions with the Steemit team about the club, I have put together answers to 8 most frequently asked questions about #club5050. Take a look below.
When can I use the #club5050 tag?
This tag can only be used when you make a power up post which you hope to receive some support votes from the Steemit team. I have noticed some users put the tag in their dairy or other posts. This is completely wrong.

Over what Period of time will my wallet be considered?
For now, the Steemit team will be looking at a 7 day period. So this means that within the 7 days period, the amount of steem transfered or sold should not be greater than the amount you are powering up.

Is this a full-blown project from the Steemit team?
The answer is no. According to the Steeamit team, the #club5050 is still in the testing phase. This simply means that lots of changes and modifications would take place soon. The changes would provide a proper guide and rules of behavior for members of the club so as to prevent people from exploiting the project.

Will my post get a vote each time I power up or use #club5050?
The answer is NO. Not every powerup post made with the #club5050 tag will get a vote. As explained above, the project is still in the testing phase and a lot of things would be taken into consideration by the Steemit team before votes are given. So if you power up and use the #club5050 tag, you still may not get a vote for now because votes are not yet guaranteed. Check the screenshot above.
What if am a trader, how will my wallet be considered since I receive steem and transfer out steem frequently?
If you use your account to trade, it would be difficult for the steemit team to determine which are earned steem and which are purchased steem. As a result, your chances of getting votes when you power up and use the tag would be reduced.
How much Steem should I power up?
For now, there are no specifics. However, powering up more steem gives your account more curation power. If everyone powers up huge amount of Steem, we grow bigger. So while the team have not specified the amount of steem to be powered up, the bigger you power up, the better.
How do I accumulate Steem to Power up
Try to engage in activities that will help you earn more SBD, Steem and Tron. This includes posting more regularly - at least once a day. You can participate in contests where you have a chance of earning liquid steem or SBD. You can swap your earned SBD to get more steem for power up. You can also swap your tron for steem using Poloniex.
What if I have other Questions?
Be patient. The Steemit team is still testing #club5050. More rules and changes would be made available in due time. Until then, you can still participate in powering up and using the #club5050. We hope to get more world from the team and probably make this a full-blown project.
Conclusion
Just like many projects from the Steemit team, we are eager to see the #club5050 become a huge success. Powering up steem helps to grow accounts and communities. More important, it helps the price of Steem in the crypto market.
