Writing challenge: AN INVENTION THAT HAS CHANGED THE WORLD FOR EVER

INTRODUCTION

We all know the effect the internet has in our world today,how it has affected us positively and negatively. It's so far the best thing that has happened to humanity,as it has in it's own way, brought us together. The world system currently cannot do without the internet. This is my 4th entry on the writing Challenge, so far so good.

WHO INVENTED THE INTERNET

After a long research I embarked on,I discovered that the internet has no single inventor. A lot of people contributed to the invention and use of the internet today, but there are two men who were given credit for inventing internet communication,and they are VINTON CERF and BOB KAHN

The internet was invented way back 1983,before that time the computer systems in use then didn't have a way of communicating with each other. The internet is currently 33years old.

The internet has literally changed the world and humanity at large. It has given us the means to reach out to each other internet wise. The internet was firstly created for military purposes,before it moved to where it is today.
Just as everything has it's advantages,it also has its disadvantages. I will share with us how the internet has affected us both positively and negatively.

ADVANTAGE OF THE INTERNET

1. The internet gives us access to information of the happenings all over the world

2. It's a means by which we connect to each other, via social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube and the rest of them

3. It brought about a means of earning and doing business online. In the most convenient way.

4. It's a medium for learning both In school and from home

5. It's used medically ,and for banking purposes.

DISADVANTAGES OF THE INTERNET

1. It's a den for cyber crimes and internet fruadsters

2. Internet addiction in our generation today

3. Less and less relationship with the outside world

4. It can be hacked which can lead to great loss of ones assets.

5. Pornography: the internet gives access to adult contents without restrictions,and it has affected the minds and psychology of our youths.

Our children can learn from the internet and it can also cause havoc in thier lives.
So far the world cannot do without the internet facilities, imagine a world where there is no internet,life would be so difficult. The internet has made a lot of things easy for everyone.

Organizations,churches , hospitals, businesses, schools,in our homes ,we all need and use the internet. So I can say the internet has changed the world forever.
