In the late hours on Thursday, 10th June, 2021 and early hours of Friday, 11th June, 2021, the Malabites and Malabresses of university of Calabar were greeted with the news that the Deputy Senate President of SUG 8th Senate, Manuywhor Queen; a 200L Student of the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Calabar, publicly humiliated a fellow student by asking the student to kneel down for close to an hour (or even more) and ordering a female Man O' War cadet to slap her. Although Man O' War debunked the news at that instance, but the Deputy Senate President confessed to the crime.

According to the many reports we gathered from different students in the course of monitoring this story, the Deputy Senate President is said to be a very proud, arrogant and pompous somebody who sees herself too high: to the extent that she feels she is higher than the entire structure, composition and organ that make up the University of Calabar community. She is said to be so full of herself, maybe because she is having an affair with the incumbent SUG President, Comrade Ugah James Ugah.

Reactions have been trailing this very report as eye-brows have been raised and all ears are on ground to see or hear how this matter would end. Although the SUG President is making so many attempts to see that this story would be swept under the carpet, but so many students and by extension, Alumni community, believe this story cannot be swept under the carpet because of the number of facts, evidences and eye-witnesses involved in the matter. When the Deputy Senate President was questioned about the authenticity of the news, she proudly stated that the 300L student who is even her senior in class. According to her, the final year student disrespected her and she had no choice but to ask her to kneel down as a way of punishing. The SUG President, Comrade Ugah James Ugah had earlier today (Saturday, 12th June, 2021), gone to the Hall of residence (Hall 6, Malabor Republic) of the Deputy Senate President where this sad incident occurred to address the entirety of the residents in order to calm the already boiling students down. On getting there, after addressing them, he asked what the female students, otherwise known as 'Malabresses' wanted, they told him they wanted the Deputy Senate President to either resign honourably or be permanently suspended from office and be expelled from the 8th Senate and that all those who were involved in the fight that earlier took place in the hostel should be expelled from the hostel as one of the hostel rules forbids any student from fighting in the hostel, no matter what. The SUG President, upon hearing what the students wanted, flared up almost immediately, thereby allowing his emotional attachment with the embattled Deputy Secretary General get the better side of him.

Those were the exact words of the SUG President. With those utterances, it can only mean one thing “that he is only for his girlfriend and every other student should go to hell.

In our separate interview with a body known as 'Concerned Students' and other students calling for justice for the victim, they are simply saying that the SUG President should as a matter of necessity and urgent public importance, join his beloved girlfriend in solidarity, by resigning his position and quitting the union.

Already, the Leadership and members of the apex student association in the Faculty where the victim comes from are staging a 1,000 man march to the Vice Chancellor's office on Tuesday, 15th June, 2021 in solidarity for their member whose rights were severely abused by the 200L Student who is most privileged to be the Deputy Senate President of the SUG 8th Senate.

Getting on Saturday, 12 of June, 2021, the SUG President girlfriend was denied access to her hostel following what she did to the final year student. The malabresses prevented her and push her out, they asked her not to be staying with them anymore. In the process she fainted and her dear boyfriend who is the SUG President came and displayed affection to her by carrying her in the present of all the student to his lounge.
