I have known SWOT analysis as a systematic planning technique that is used to identify and evaluate the strengths, the weaknesses, opportunities, and threats or challenges that affects a business, an organisation, or a project. Applying SWOT to my activities as a teacher is a very new thing for me. I knew SWOT would help a company understand their current situation and make informed decisions based on the information it presents.

As a teacher, I have my areas of strengths, some weaknesses and some opportunities and threats.

A good and candid SWOT analysis will help me do better as a teacher, giving my learners a better learning experience.

Strengths
As a teacher and Steemian, I have the potential to continue learning, which gives me something new for my students, making each class a one-of-a-kind experience. I learn new things every day.
As a parent, I have this parental perspective that helps me empathise with and understand my pupils and their parents. I understand the reason for certain behaviours and responses. I can speak to the parents from experience and manage the kids as I manage my kids at home.

Weaknesses
I have not been able to create lesson plans that includes the learning needs of all individual students. They all have their needs and would do better if I could give them personalised attention within the limited allocated time.

Opportunities
There are additional training to boost productivity and other professional training in classroom management and lesson planning. Becoming a member of the Microsoft educator framework, where we are taught to teach with available technology, enhancing collaboration among teachers.

Threats
Stringent rules and regulations that hinder the administration of proper discipline have made it very difficult and frustrating and, made some kids develop personalities that are not helpful.
Sometimes we are forced to work based on a material that was poorly composed, making the lessons a lot harder.

✅ After using the SWOT analysis technique, then what is the follow-up plan that you will do in the future, What are your priorities? 3 Points

Based on my strengths as a lifelong learner, my follow-up plan is to continue in my professional development by pursuing additional training through workshops or certifications to enhance my teaching skills and stay updated on best practices.
While building strong relationships with the parents, facilitating a mutual understanding.

To address my weaknesses, I will have to collaborate and learn from other teachers, incorporate technology like learning management systems (LMS), adaptive assessment and games. I would also use multimedia resources and interactive simulations, which will help care for the needs of different pupils.

To make good use of the opportunities that presents themselves for me, I will take up more professional training in classroom management and lesson planning training.

I will make myself available when books are being reviewed to help pick better books for the students, and I will be involved in policy making by telling the management what I face as challenges.

In the list of my priorities, I will love to address the weaknesses I have in the area of lesson planning by working with other teachers and learning from them. I also plan to collaborate with the school authorities in policy making and the selection of materials for each school year.
