SLC | S22W2 : Anti-bullying Campaign by Teachers

Hello all Steemian around the world. I hope you are in happiness and full of blessings As a Steemia I write in Steemit. I also join the contest. Now I want to participate in the contest which held by @miftahulrizky and @fantvwiki. They want to explain and do the task about bullying and how to overcome. We must use our own idea and try to do teh task well. OK, let's do it. I will try to do from start to the end. Here my answer for their question and task.

1. In your language, What Have you learned about bullying? And give an example of anti-bullying that is applied in your country or around you.

Bullying is an act carried out by a person or group intentionally to disturb, annoy, threaten or commit aggression so that other people feel uncomfortable in their place.

Types and Forms of Bullying

Bullying can be divided into two types, namely traditional and cyber.
Traditional forms of bullying consist of:

1. Physical bullying. Forms of physical bullying can be done through hitting, pulling the hair, slapping, spitting or actions that are physically carried out against someone
2. Verbal bullying. Forms of verbal bullying can be done in the form of teasing, body shaming, calling names with rude names or words that cause other people to dislike
3. Social bullying. Forms of social bullying are carried out by ostracizing one person from an existing group so that the ostracized person will feel marginalized and inferior in one community.
4. Bullying in the form of sexual harassment.

Bullying carried out through networks is done by spreading fake news, slander or spreading shame with the aim of disturbing, destroying credibility, or tarnishing a good name as a black campaign.

Causes of Bullying

Perpetrators and victims can have factors that cause bullying to occur.

From the perpetrator's side, one of the causes is a feeling of superiority, feeling stronger and having power so that they will show that they or their group are the holders of power.

From the victim's side, the cause of bullying is because they do not dare to fight back against the bullying they experience. The victim feels weak and afraid so that the perpetrator will be even more daring to bully the victim.

Impact of Bullying

Bullying is an action that can be dangerous for both the victim and the perpetrator themselves. For the perpetrator, it will cause an aggressive attitude that will result in criminal acts. Bullying perpetrators like this can damage good relationships with fellow friends or with other people,

For victims of bullying, it will certainly have a big impact both physically, psychologically and socially. If bullying is done physically, it will certainly result in injury. Psychologically, bullying is an action that can threaten their future. Victims of bullying will feel inferior and afraid. Usually they will become introverts and keep secrets. If not addressed immediately, it will certainly have a bad impact on the victims.

Efforts to Overcome Bullying

There needs to be action to overcome bullying in an integral and synergistic manner with all stakeholders. Parents or adults, schools, communities and the government must take part in efforts to overcome bullying.

In my conutry, Indonesia, efforts that can be done preventively, repressively or curatively. With maximum efforts, we hope that bullying can be overcome.

Preventive Efforts

Efforts made to prevent bullying from happening. Efforts that have been made are:

1. Providing education on the dangers of bullying. This is done through school institutions, youth meetings or through online media.
2. Building a conducive environment, both in the school environment and in the surrounding community.
3. Teaching children the need to fight bullying.
4. Making laws on child bullying. This has been regulated in Law No. 35/2014, which prohibits violence against children. Likewise, cyber bullying is regulated in Law no. 11 of 2008. Meanwhile, protection from bullying of employees is regulated in Law no. 1/2023
5. Establishing strict rules about bullying.

Repressive Efforts

When bullying occurs, we can also take part in stopping bullying. Do it together so that the perpetrators of bullying see greater social power. Efforts made include:

1. Protecting victims of bullying
2. Restraining bullies from continuing
3. Contacting authorities when bullying occurs
4. Taking firm action against bullies

Curative Efforts

Efforts that can be made after bullying occurs. This action is carried out by:

1. Providing mental support for victims of bullying
2. Providing counseling so that their mentality is more stable
3. Giving social punishment to the perpetrators. One punishment that is actually effective is social punishment. As an illustration, if there is a bully who is then made viral through social media, psychologically the perpetrator will feel that he is being punished more severely than physical punishment.

2. Make an anti-bullying Poster or infographic with the creativity you have, complete with the steps to make it and the meaning of each image you make. Originality is the main thing of assessment.

This time I will make a poster to support the anti-bullying movement. To make this poster I prepared

Here are the steps I took in making the poster

Step 1

Making a picture of an open palm by tracing my own hand. This gesture is generally known as a sign of rejection of something.

Step 2

Making vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines that meet at one point. This depicts a corner of the room where bullying often occurs.

Step 3

Making a picture of a child in the corner of the room.

Step 4

Drawing three shadow figures that symbolize the perpetrators of bullying. Some do physical bullying by pulling hair, some bully using cellphones and some verbally prove it symbolized by the shadow behind with wide mouths. These perpetrators of bullying seem to be shadows in the child's life so that they are always sad and cry

Step 5

Making writing containing a message to fight bullying right now.

Step 6

Thickening and giving color and shading to the poster that was made so that the poster is finished.

3. Publish your videos to oppose bullying on social media. I share it on YouTube

4. Write your campaign message against bullying, using your language.

Bullying is not only the enemy of one person. Bullying is not a scary ghost. Bullying is a common enemy. Let's unite against Bullying. Together we can stop bullying. Don't let the victim stand alone without defense. Don't let there be oppression by others.

Fight bullying and don't just stay silent. Bullying is trash that must be thrown away. When you see bullying, fight it together. Like a stick will be weak but a bundle of sticks will be able to clean up trash, so don't just fight bullying alone. Unite, together and move to fight bullying.

There are already so many victims of bullying, don't add more. Heal the wounds of the victims, give them happiness when they know bullying can be eliminated. Daring to fight Bullying means saving the future. Provide education about the dangers of bullying, make them understand the importance of living together without bullying. Live together in peace. Bullying is gone, life becomes peaceful.
