Story at school #2 : ".....The best Pupil in my time...."

I missed the first episode, and I really don’t want to miss the next one because I have stories to tell.

My school days were the funniest times of my life, but I’ll start my story from when I can first remember.

This happened a few years ago in elementary school. I was one of the top students, but my classmates didn’t believe in my abilities. They often said I got special treatment from the teacher because I was her favorite. Whenever I placed second or third (I never got first because the top student was very competitive), they would tell their parents that I was getting favoritism.

I was generally liked by everyone, but I couldn’t understand why my classmates couldn’t see that. This continued until I missed two weeks of school due to illness. I was so unwell that my teacher came to my house twice to check on me. When I finally returned to school, I knew I had a lot to catch up on.

On my first day back, my teacher was teaching a math lesson (I can’t recall the exact topic, but it was about fractions). Everyone was paying close attention, but when she finished, she asked if we understood, and everyone said yes. So, she gave us a classwork assignment since we all seemed to grasp the topic.

At the end of the assignment, I was the only one who got the math right. Everyone was shocked, including my teacher, who thought I might struggle since I had just come back from being sick.

I was asked by my teacher to write corrections on the board for everyone. After I finished, the class was asked to give me a round of applause. Word spread that I was the only student in my class who received a math assignment while I was away from school for two weeks.

On exam day, our school usually mixes all the students in a hall so that we don’t sit next to our classmates. We started the exams in the morning and finished in the afternoon, and it lasted for three days.

On the last day of school, prizes are awarded to the top students, the neatest student, and others for various achievements. You won’t believe it, but I almost took home all the prizes! I won the best student award, the neatest student award (which I always won until I left), the chapel prefect award, and the most hardworking student award. There were so many prizes that my parents had to come on stage to help carry them.

That was when my classmates started to respect me and stopped saying negative things about me. They realized I was a smart student, not a dull one. I became the talk of the school and the neighborhood. Even in church, since it was a missionary school, I was the main topic, and my self-esteem soared.

I can’t help but laugh at this story; it brings back so many memories. I hope to share more of my school experiences here. Thank you for having me.

Hi @ninapenda ,, I came to respond to your story because I actually had the opposite happen! were you one of the best students in elementary school? In fact, I was listed as the stupidest student there since grade 4-5, except grade 6. When I was in grade 6, my parents started to intervene in my activities at school after they found out that I had really become the stupidest and most stubborn student.

Very interesting, you have almost mastered all kinds of achievements and rewards there. Meanwhile, I was forced to rely on several teachers who knew my family well, if they didn't help me graduate, maybe I would continue to make friends with new students...

that's a great memory story my friend.

Regard,

You got me laughing here my friend. What? Stupidest, do we have such word like that? OMG.

But why were you not willing to make your parents proud? Why did you have to cause so much trouble? I would love to read your story,I think I will laugh more there.

And you owe a bigger thanks to those teachers who helped you out so that you stop making friends with all sets of new students.

hahaha, I'm telling the truth, I'm not embarrassed because on this platform none of my little friends know about my stupidity...

yes, I have thanked my teachers who have helped me... 🤣
