Teaching strategies 🧏‍♂️ | Practice Making Group Chants

_{It is very difficult to provide theoretical explanations to many students, therefore a teacher must have many strategies, one of which is a group learning strategy.}

Hello all stemian friends, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 we carried out scout training activities at school again. This activity can be followed by any interested student.

Every week students who are interested are increasing, this is due to the training factor in the previous week which made the students memorable and excited.

Because the number of students attending is increasing, we as coaches must not run out of ideas to be able to guide them professionally, so that all of today's subject matter can be conveyed properly we tell them to form into groups.

After the groups are formed, we explain to them some of the rules that must be obeyed today so that the learning conditions can run as expected and students can be orderly.

We then gave an explanation to the students about the material on how to complete the general proficiency requirements (SKU). The students are asked to be able to complete all the tasks in the SKU so that they can get an endorsement from the coach.

The tasks are very simple and easy for students to do, because it is about their knowledge and daily life activities. We also explain what the benefits are when they have completed all the tasks.

Those who have completed all the tasks will get a promotion, this rank is in the form of a symbol that will later be sewn on the sleeve of the scout uniform they use.

Hearing this, students are very motivated and they want to try to immediately succeed in completing all tasks in order to get a rank. This task can be completed at any time when meeting with the Scoutmaster at school. The material about the SKU explanation was finished and continued with the next activity.

The next activity, the students with their respective groups are given 15 minutes to make songs that can arouse the spirit of the group or we call it yel-yel.

Later each group will compete with each other to show which group is the best and compact, active student groups feel very excited to show the greatness of their group.

The time given was up, one by one the groups were asked to come forward and sing their group's song. In front of them was another group of opponents, while the rest of the students became spectators and provided support.

We have found some groups that are very active and compact, while some other groups are still not compact. After they sang their group song, their team leader was called to be declared the winner.

We determine the students' victory by looking at their enthusiasm, their compactness in performing the movements, and their voices.

After the whole activity was over, I gave directions to the students so that in the future they could take turns being group leaders. So every student can learn to be a leader in the smallest
smallest context.
