Good day everyone, it's my first time participating In a learning challenge. The lesson for today is about how teaching behavior and personality can affect students positively and I will also discuss about the negative behaviors teachers should avoid. Let's go there.

After understanding the course material, explain why teachers need to be examples and role models for students, and how much influence does this have on student behavior and character?

I have learned a lot from this lesson especially from the video. Now I want everyone to watch the video again with me. This time around we'll pay attention on the teacher's behavior and what his students learned from his personality. After watching the video we'll discuss it one after the other. Let watch the lesson video.

Now let me explain the video in detail. The story begins with a teacher who took care of his sick mother. He also spend time with his mother even in the classroom. You can see that even when he's teaching, his mother would be at the back of the class. But along the line, some pupil and parents were not comfortable with his actions bringing his mother to the classroom which call the attention of the principal.

The principal inform the teacher that there's a lot of complaints about his work and suggested finding someone to take care of his mother during the teaching hour. The teacher rejected the offer, making it known that, he's the only one that should be with his mother no matter what because she's the one that give birth to him.

Did the teacher, parent and his pupil leaned something from him. Definitely, they do. Let me start with each one of them:

  • The students: the students learned that they should take care of their parents in their old age, and love their parents. "I will drive you around the street when I grow up" this what one student told his mother on their way home.

  • The teachers and the principal: when the principal realize how passionate and caring the teacher is to his mother, he didn't have any other option than to support him. In the video, he made a difficult decision that would have close down his school. He called a PTA meeting and analyze the problem to the parents. He said if anyone thinks that what the teacher did is wrong taking care of his mother, they should write their names down.

  • The parent: At first, they wanted to move their children from the school to another school but when it was fully explained to them, they realize that the teacher was teaching their children the best life to live in the future. When the principal said they should write their name, none of them responded.

Each teacher has a different character and personality, name as many negative behaviors that you are aware of in yourself while teaching.

It's true that each teacher has a different character and personality that's why we also have "the most like" among the teachers. In a school you'll realize that there's one particular teacher you love so much, it might be the way he or she teaches, the actions or the behaviors. This quality are more important in the learning environment. Now let talk about the negative quality, I means those qualities that should be avoided when teaching.

  1. Using abusing word. Is not necessary or should I say, it's not good using an abusive words with the students.

  2. Lying and cheating: there are different ways teaching can show that they are honest people. For example, trying to cover up when there's a supervisor. There's a case whereby the teacher has to rehearse with students some minutes before the supervisor from the education board arrived . No, no, no, that's a negative behavior.

  3. Indecent dressing or swags: I see this as a negative behavior. I know teachers are doing their best in terms of dressing but there's always a bad egg. No offense

  4. "Do what I say not what I do." I think this one is related to me. I ask @miftahulrizky if mentoring someone on steemit can be use in the lesson and he said yes. So I think the negative behavior here is teaching the newcomer to create their own content while am busy posting content from Ai and plagiarism.

Share with us examples of positive attitudes or exemplary behaviors that you have implemented in your daily life with students? What educational values are contained in these behaviors.

Am not a experience teacher but when it comes to steemit I can called myself a teacher. Now let me share with you about positive behavior I implemented in my daily life with someone I mentor on steemit. You know when you invite someone to steemit, their expectations are making one post, boom, vote left right and center, payout like 10 steem or 5 sbd.

No no no it doesn't work that way, you have to create an impact, being consistent and engaging to be visible. So this student of mine was someone who really have the passion to work online but lack the writing skills. So guilding him need patient and understanding. So I told him: if you want to achieve something, you must be ready to learned, make mistakes and then continue to learn.

So to improve the writing, I recommend some steemit post to him, with some questions like; do you see how this writer arrange his post, doest it makes it easier for you to understand what the writer say? Does the post look attractive to you? what can you do to do the same? The easier way to know what to write is writing about yourself, what you can do,your story and so on.

Would it be making sense teaching my students to write quality on his own while am copying my own from internet or someone else? No, it's wouldn't. That's to say what I teach him Is what am doing so he would be able to learn positively.

Digugu” means that the teacher can be trusted or obeyed, meaning that every word of the teacher students can trust him as a source of truth so that it must be followed and obeyed.

Ditiru” which means the teacher can be used as an example and role model, so the teacher is not only his words that can be trusted but also his behavior, actions and manners can be an example and example that must be followed by students.

Quote explained by @miftahulrizky

In other words, I can call myself "dituru" as am not only telling him what to do but my activities on steemit should also proved to what am saying.

What benefits do you feel from the exemplary behavior you have shown so far, has it had a positive impact on the behavior and character of your students?

Nothing makes me happy than my students telling me that he had finally gotten a support from Sc01. After many months, after many write up, mistakes, discouraged and so on. But at last we finally got the achievement. Now he's doing well in the platform na d he can also mentor someone else as well.

My teaching was not in the classroom like being physically with someone but we made time for it and am happy to say that am proud of him. I hope my presentation valid as a teacher. This is where I will put full stop on this topic and I believe we learned something today. By the way, I will like @emmaboy23, @saintkelvin17, @josepha and @cicisaja to join me on this contest.

Good job @mhizta, you did your best to be active and try different things every day. Thank you for your invitation to join in🙌 I don't want to write about something that I didn't do in my real life, so I can't join in.

But, you really did a good job on describing your opinion about the video and also about helping others. With this quality of yours, have you ever been booming too?

Quality keh? I was just sharing my perspective as a teacher and a student. Talking about booming, I do.....if not mistaken but twice. That was last year and since then still working toward it. What ABOUT you friend?
