SLC | S21W4 : Worksheets Learners"

We've got another beautiful topic this week which I fell in love with as usual. I believe it's the same for others too especially those that have made an entry already. After going through the lesson, I decided to try out the task. By the way the lesson is rich and very realistic, a special thanks to our professor for investing so much of his time to put this up.

In your opinion, what is a Worksheets learners and how helpful is the use of Worksheets learners in the learning process in the classroom?

A worksheet learner is an important tools used in a learning environment . In this case we are looking at it from the standpoint of a school environment. In a school environment, a teacher uses the worksheet learner to aid his teaching activities and to make him very effective.

Worksheet learner contain vital elements which include tasks, instructions and steps that can aid both teacher and student for effective learning. With worksheet learner, students can understand better what the teacher is trying to teach, they could also get comprehensive note via this worksheet learner.

For a comprehensive breakdown of what the worksheet learner entails, I would like to highlight them. This would also guide me in attempting the next task. Below are the vital elements that makes up a worksheet learner.

• Title/Topic.
• Introduction of Topic
• Materials & Resources
• Assessment
• Question/Homework Task.

With worksheet learners, teachers can assess their students and know how effective the learning process is, it also help engage the student...to bring out the best in them. Another fascinating fact about worksheet learner is that it can be tailored to meet the needs of the student.Worksheet learners also give room to students for logical reasoning

In this section I want to practically demonstrate how to make a worksheet using the same idea that our professor had taught in the course of his lecture. Let's do this friends.

c. Talk about the advantages and disadvantages of the various means of transportation.

• Introduction of Topic

a. Transportation is the movement of people from one place to another. People move from one place to another using various means and these mean have their advantages over the other. In the following section we would go deeper into this lesson.

b. Modes of transportation.
We have various modes of transportation which includes, the following below.

i. Transportation by Air: This is the movement of people from one place to another by air and one of the major means of this transportation is the aeroplane.

ii. Transportation by Land: this is the movement of people from one place to another on land and some of the means of this mode of transportation is Car, buses, train ,horses etc

iii. Transportation by water. This is the movement of people from one place to another by water and the common means include ships, canoes, ferry etc.

• Learning Material/Resources

Some of the resources we would be using for the learning process include social studies textbook for basic IV class and little reference online for additional input. Comprehensive notes would also be given to further aid their comprehension and have them leave with something they can always refer to.

In your opinion, what is the lack of use of worksheets learners in the learning process?

There would be so many struggles with learning without worksheet learner, research has shown that worksheet learner is both beneficial for teacher and learner. Without it the following things am about to mention would happen.

• It would make learning unstructured and this is not a very good approach to learning, when lessons go just anyhow, the student would only be impacted by chance and the teacher himself would not be effective.

• Absence of worksheet learner will bring about less engagement among students as there is really nothing to engage them with. You can see how the worksheet is structured to have evaluations of all kinds, if they are excluded, students will not be exposed to learning engagement culture.

• Teacher would lack the ability to tailor his or her lesson in a way that it meets the very needs of his or her students because one of the very advantage that worksheet learner has is that it can be fashioned to meet the needs of students.
These and many more are the things that would be lacking when a worksheet learner is removed from the learning process.

Is the teacher's handbook as well as the student's, is sufficient as a guide and learning guideline?

This is a very important question. I would personally say No, not anymore, it actually use to be but as it stands today there are different platforms where material for learning can be gotten to add up to what we have on ground as handbooks or textbooks.

I am not saying these handbooks or textbooks should be eradicated, no, not at all, they have been very good models for learning but the world is evolving and new discoveries are being made everyday, hence the reason we need to add some of these things to the already made handbook which sometimes are rigid in their approach.

It might interest you to know that some of these handbooks still contains information that are no longer relevant and if we stick to them and refuse to allow some of those update into the system all in the name of maintaining these book, we would start producing student that are outdated and would no longer be able to fit into this present world anymore. All I am saying is that we can strike a balance.

Sigh! I think it's high time I dropped my pen, I've said a whole lot, I just hope our dear professor finds my entry quite interesting. Just before I go, I would love to invite @rakiya @sur-riti @okere-blessing.
