I believe that blockchain platforms like Steemit could be a convenient educational tool, and the main reasons, compared to other media, are:

• Convenience and transparency in record-keeping;
• Additional incentives with cryptocurrency rewards instead of just grades;
• The possibility to incorporate gamification into learning (which is often lacking for children, as the genuine desire to learn typically comes much later in life, usually after the age of 20).

Given the potential for popularity, it might even be worth creating a separate branch of the blockchain and naming it Steemit Study, Steemit University, or something similar.
