Introduction

It is another opportunity to unravel hidden and famous yet unknown places. My sincere commendations to @pennsif for bringing up this blueprint #steem-atlas project. I would be biased and unfair if I should fail to recognize the effort of @miftahulrizky for hosting this project so as to support this mandate. Considering the importance and relevance of this mission, below is my little way of supporting the project. I will be marking the Annex campus University of Uyo, Uyo Akwa Ibom State.

The University of Uyo, commonly addressed as Uniuyo is an institution of higher learning located in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. It operates on a multi campus system. Specifically, there are five Campuses making up the University of Uyo and they include; The University of Uyo, Town Campus, the University of Uyo, Permanent Campus, the University of Uyo, Ime Umanah Campus, the University of Uyo, Abak Road. Among the five Campuses, The Annex Campus stands out among them as a pivotal Hub for various academic, non academic and administrative services.

The Annex Campus is strategically located in between Ikot Ekpene Road Uyo and Ikpa Road, Uyo. However, it has it main gate at Ikot Ekpene Road and a smaller gate along Ikpa Road very close to The University of Uyo, Town Campus. The Annex Campus is the home of the following faculties; Faculty of Business Administration, Environmental Studies, General Studies, Management Science, Communication and Media Studies, Vocational Educational among others. These faculties comprises of different departments which collaboratively makes The Annex Campus a citadel of Knowledge.

In addition to the varying academic benefits, the Annex Campus is as well equipped with series of infrastructures and facilities ranging from Library, Information resource center, standard auditorium, football pitch, Animal house, laboratories, Cafeteria, Hostels, Semi Forest etc.

In-depth Description of the Facilities and their Relevancy

Information Resource Center

In today's world where technology and information is gradually replacing everything, the University of Uyo Annex Campus fits prominently into this present age with their standardized resource center. The Annex Campus has a well equipped ICT room with about 200 computers. Though images of the computers are not available, however, the school website contains pictures and images of the interior part of the ICT room.

It significance in supporting learning is evidence in the fast and reliable internet services of the school this, playing significant roles in the electronic learning programs of the school as well as in keeping Accurate records. Specifically, the resources pays greatly in facilitating online research, seamless and effective communication and virtual learning environments among the students and lecturers amidst.

Hostel Facilities

The Annex Campus takes into consideration the fact that most students come school from a far location and that many others may likely feel comfortable staying off home so as to enhance their learning process. With this, the school comprises of three hostels. Two which are dedicated to the female and a big story building hostel allocated to the male. The hostel is well secured with good water facilities, toiletries and ventilation.

The hostel is always open every 6:00am in the morning and runs until 9:00pm in the evening. Any student who does not return before this is always forced to attend night reading till the next day. The significance of the hostel is based on the outstanding role of accommodation which enhancing student engagement in extracurricular activities and academic activities.

The Cafeteria

If not for academic purposes, I would say that the Annex cafeteria happens to be the most important part of the annex campus. Yet, in my opinion, It is the very important aspect of the university. The Cafeteria is well structured with sits and tables. The house is highly decorated with flowers and electronics to make the house an inviting place to stay.

Variety of meals ranging from Rice, beans different varieties of soups, spaghetti, indomie, Ekpang and lots of African delicacies. The variety of food and the interior decoration makes the annex library an hub to all the students. Especially, those staying in old hostel and within the school environment. The significance of the annex cafe goes beyond mere provisions of food as it extends to the overall well-being of the University Community through the provision of a relaxation and game center.

Football Pitch

The Annex semi stadium is always the home for spotting activities ranging from javelin throw, shot put, race, and football tournaments. Sport and recreational facilities are integral to the students as they promote sound health and fosters collaboration among the students and interested lecturers. It is worthy to mention that the location of the stadium makes it a recreational site as it's situated around the semi forest axis.

In addition to these unique features, the Annex campus has a forest used for experiments by Agricultural students. The theater art in most cases uses this forest for movie making.

Also, we have the farm house use for keeping animals and most importantly the library which houses thousands of books, a resources room for research and well arranged isolated chairs among others.
