SLC | S22W5 : Teachers as examples and role models

on this occasion I am back to join a contest. in this contest I also do not expect to win and do not hope for the best. I just want to try my ability.

Teachers have a very important role in shaping students' behavior and character. As a respected figure and the center of attention in class, a teacher must be able to be an example and role model. The attitudes, behaviors and values shown by teachers directly affect students, both in academic aspects and in their daily lives. Students tend to imitate what they see and experience from teachers, so if a teacher shows positive values such as discipline, responsibility, honesty and hard work, then students will tend to imitate these behaviors in their lives.

The influence of teachers on students' behavior and character is very large, because teachers not only teach subject matter, but also become social models that influence character formation. As authority figures in schools, teachers can motivate and direct students to develop their potential and build good attitudes. When teachers are good examples, students feel more integrated to follow in positive footsteps, which ultimately has an impact on their personal and social development. Thus, teachers who act as role models play a major role in shaping students' behavior and character to be better and more positive.

Some negative behaviors that I am aware of in myself while teaching include:

1. Lack of patience. Sometimes I get frustrated quickly when students do not understand the material quickly, which can affect the classroom atmosphere.

2. Too dominant. Sometimes I tend to dominate the conversation and do not give students enough opportunities to speak or ask questions.

3. Ignoring individual needs. Sometimes I focus too much on the material that must be delivered, so that I pay less attention to the learning needs of each student.

I am aware of these behaviors and continue to try to improve them in order to create a more effective learning atmosphere.

One of the positive attitudes that I apply is to provide an exemplary example of time discipline. Every time I arrive on time to teach, I show the importance of respecting time. In addition, I also emphasize to students not to delay work, both at school and at home. The educational values contained in this behavior are discipline, responsibility and time management. This is important to form the character of students who are orderly and efficient in completing their tasks, as well as teaching them to respect time as a resource that cannot be repeated.

The exemplary behavior that I have demonstrated so far has had a significant positive impact on the behavior and character of my students. By demonstrating discipline, mutual respect and hard work, I hope that my students can emulate and adopt these values in their daily lives. As a result, I see an increase in positive attitudes, responsibility and a higher enthusiasm for learning among them. This also strengthens the relationship between me and the students, creating a more harmonious and productive atmosphere.
