RE: Borderlands (film): It really is as bad as they say
I believe reading this is more entertaining!
To those who love to feel annoyed, or perhaps it's great to hear while doing the dishes here is a link to watch for free. If gone, search.

You must really be bored that you do give it a watch. I must say I rarely believe what is written but this doesn't sound good, like most Hollywood films these days. With you I wonder what that huge amount is used for. Can be to bribe the actors.
@darthnava do you watch these type of fims?
I really hate video game to movie adaptations. Only a handful were good. This is what happens when the directors don't play the games.

It might be better if the script writer, director and actors play the game before they start. Sounds as if you two share the same experiences.
Is there one film you can advise? BTW did you watch The Super Mario Bros Movie?
These are good and near source material:
Mortal Kombat (1995 film)
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001 action adventure film)
Silent Hill ( 2006 supernatural horror film)
Hitman (2007 film)
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010 film)
Need for Speed (2014 action crime film)

Super Mario Movie was actually very good IMO. Watch that!
I already saw it. My opinion in short: it could have been longer. This one was a big, pleasant surprise.
that was a video game adaptation done right. I went into it with zero expectations and was glued to the screen the entire time.
Those surprises are the best
you can't fault the actors for taking this role. With such a huge budget and other stars already signed on it seems to them like a good business decision. It's a real shame that this was so awful because it could have been a series of epic films. Now it is just a one and done for sure. They don't make sequels to films that lose 100 million dollars.
It feels to the manager told them to sign. No one signs because others already did. Someone was the first and couldn't say that. Still, I do believe actors can make it better or worse.
Everyone can say: I am present, I like to acct myself and do as much as possible myself. Otherwise a stunt man should be the actor. I wonder if the producer seriously thought it would be a great hit.
I doubt it that's why the big names were needed
in my mind this film would have been potentially better if they had no name actors in it that were skilled. There would have been less egos to cater to, people would have been more enthusiastic to really do a good job, and of course, it would have cost them $40 million less in budget which they could have used towards making convincing CGI, which was really bad in this.

There you made a good point. The unknown, preferably someone who played the game, would make something great out of it. Plenty l like cosplay. Might have done it for free as well. Your name in fat on the screen is worth something as well.
