Dr Romantic - series
I finally, finished season 1 of "Dr Romantic". I downloaded the first two episodes longer ago (Netflix) and watched them on the plane. Once I arrived I could not download the rest and Netflix blocked me. So goodbye Netflix, you are not that good that I go pay 14 euros per month to watch half of series and films I already saw or can see online.
Unlike what you might believe if you watch the first episodes "Dr Romantic" isn't the short-tempered young doctor you see. Dr Romantic is also not the female senior he declared his love (no long love scenes so you are good) but the Dr Kim we will meet later in a hospital that is the punishing camp where doctors seeing as a threat are sent to.
It's interesting to see how doctors treat one another, the dirty games they play and how the nurses and everyone involved keep their mouths shut and play along with the dirty games. I can understand that a job is important but imagine these creeps and money wolves are the ones who will treat you! We mainly meet bunch of doctor incapable to treat patient well which makes me wonder how they ever passed their exams. They lack everything one would expect from a doctor: empathy, skills, the will the search for a remedy... (they are clearly not like Dr House who might lack empathy (I don't see it) and his only interest is figuring out what a patient is suffering from. A good brain and out-of-the-box thinking is needed for that.).
Dr Kim is a great, skilled doctor and unlike what is said in the description of this series he didn't leave out of free will. With a broken career and heart it's difficult to continue your job among the criminals of the "best" hospital there is.
Is dr Kim crazy, rude, an idiot or an idealist, the one with the right spirit focused on relieving pain, finding a cure and being able to see the potential of the young doctors who are directed into the hospital to get rid of him or... to check his steps and help to make him fall and lose his license forever?
I wonder how you would react after all those years of hiding, and saving others while being blamed for murdering a patient you never operated on. This part, others operating in his name, is an interesting concept and it does happen. This is what specialists do: they let students operate without them being present and if it goes wrong they shrug and say it was "bad luck".
Bad luck? The bad luck for the patient is likely the luck for the unskilled med student.
Above you can watch a video of the maker named "wtf moments". I am not sure what is meant and if I watch them I would say these are the exaggerating parts but also some of them are not funny, more hurtful. I am not quiet sure what the Korean humour is and for sure a bit of "funny" acts between lovers is because showing affection and love isn't seen as appropriate.
A plus of season 1 is that the focus in on medical treatments and not on love issues and if it's short enough to continue watching.
If you listen well you will find out in episode 21 what Master Kim says about "romance". Listen closely, it might have a complete different meaning that you expect.
Is this series worth watching? Yes. It's better than "New Amsterdam" which I stopped watching after the c19 nonsense was used in the series to brainwash people. Dr Romantic is a medical kdrama with not too much drama (to my opinion) and a good dose of envy showing the sick minds os some, the sheep and the good hearted willing to speak out and take the risk to be banned forever.

I don't agree with everything written but that's the result of looking with different eyes.
