CCC CONTEST: What does CCC mean to you? 4.06

in CCC3 years ago (edited)

What does CCC mean to me this week? I was thinking about this for a couple of weeks now and had earlier thought about cooking chicken curry but that moment had passed. It was when I was cooking chicken curry. At that time, the thought was in my head but I didn’t get to write it. But you know what, I will write it now ☺

Cooking Chicken Curry

Cooking

is something I liked doing as a young kid. I watched my grandma cook for the family. She cooked until she was very old, until she could no longer cook. But each time she did, she did it with so much love for the food and for the family. It is something I realized too as I cooked more this past year. When you cook with love for the people you love, the food does turn out tastier. Maybe it is imagination, maybe it is the way it is. I remembered my aunty used to say that she talked to her dough and the dough would rise up beautifully and fluffier. It is the same with when we write or when we do the things that we do. If we put our heart and soul into them, they would turn out pretty nicely.

Chicken

Chicken is the meat I eat most often, apart from fish. I don’t like other kinds of meat or rather, am not used to it. But even with chicken, I don’t eat that much unless it is fried chicken. But that too, I can’t eat more than 1 piece nowadays. People say we should eat organic chicken, village farmed, because we don’t know what chemical is injected into chicken these days. But, I have no way of certifying and confirming that an organic chicken is free of these because we don’t see it. It is a label but then again, who knows?

Curry

One of my favourite spices and I especially love chicken curry. Fish curry is quite yummy too but I prefer cooking chicken curry. I remembered the way my grandma used to do it. She would pound roughly chopped garlic, onion, ginger, lemongrass and all with her mortar and pestle, then stir fry them until fragrant before adding the curry spice and chicken. After frying them for a while, she would add coconut milk and the vegetables. I tried to recreate this recipe and it turned out pretty all right. The best part of it is that the more I try, the better the taste.

Everything that we do, it is very much like cooking chicken curry. We choose our ingredients, prepare them, conceptualize what needed to be done, chop them up, pound them where needed to and then bring them together into a dish that tastes wonderful. With writing, we choose our topics, choose our words, conceptualize the idea in our head on what to write and then cook them up into an article. How wonderful life is sometimes.

I like chicken most of all too. At least these days. I don't think they inject the meat with medication or pesticide but they do with water. Which means you buy water for the biggest part.

Chickens with us are given antibiotics to avoid illnesses. Once they get ill it spreads quickly and all chickens will be killed. Keeping too many animals together isn't different from keeping too many people together. It's a great option to kill many within a short time.

You could keep two chickens for eggs or so if you like.

The food looks good and I agree with you a label proofs nothing. Even own chickens eat who knows what. The poison is in the water, the breathe and drink plastic just like us and no matter what you feed them there is... in it.

Oh I didn't know they would inject water. We have heard that they inject something to make them grow faster and bigger, usually inject right at the butt apparently. Many say don't eat the butt.
My grandma used to have chickens roaming around the back of the house and whenever she felt like cooking chicken, she would slaughter one and the kids would help to pluck the feathers. It was quite an experience to remember :D

Some are injected with hormones to stimulate the grow but once it's meat they inject it with water.
I mainly eat chest, a few times a year leg but if you adk me hormones go through the entire body just like antibiotics. I doubt you can avoid it. Having your own would be better. They can take care of the insects in your garden.
