Weekly Report as Steem Representative, 15 April – 21 April 2023
Week 4
Greetings!
We’ve reached the end of another week on Steemit, 4 weeks for us as Steem Representatives.
By reading the post of Steemians who is taking part in Week 1 of the Steem Engagement Challenge Season 9 hosted by Steem Entrepreneurs it is clear that a lot is expected from us.
What is rewarding is the great remarks and positive feedback. Be assured that we give our best. It is through our efforts and your relentless support that we can make a success of this project.

Contest 1
This week was No. #40 of this weekly contest.
Through this week’s contest, the focus was on the word “UNCOPYRIGHTABLE” explaining copyright and the use of free copyright images.
“I spy with my little eye” is a thinking game that grows the reasoning and vocabulary of Steemians.
For the 2nd week, there was no winner. The first time this has happened.
This week’s prize is now standing on 6 STEEMS.
Total of prizes given away for this contest:
0 STEEM
Contest 2
I’ve launched the 2nd week of this contest whereby it is required of Steemians to increase their word count to 400+ words. This is to take Steemians out of their comfort zone.
For the 1st contest, 15 Steemians took part. Some of the entries fell short of the word count which is an indication that Steemians don’t read the rules of contests.
Maybe they are just too excited to start writing or they got used to the standard rules set by most communities.
Total of prizes given away for week 1:
15 STEEM

Steem For Ladies
Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 9 kicked off on a high note for this community with already 160 entries and there are still 1,5 days left.
Most of my work in the community this week was spent on the curation of posts, educating, and monitoring the 3 new moderators who are participating in the moderator training program. The ladies were thrown into the deep side with so many entries each day. It is so rewarding to see their dedication, effort, and support of the community and the team. Thank you ladies!
I am also responsible for the booming program, weekly booming post, and the #welovepowerup contest of the community.
Education
- Moderator training program
As most of you are aware I started a moderator training program.
The training program was introduced to guide Steemians in the world of curating, verifying, and voting for posts while encouraging and educating their fellow Steemians. This program will prepare Steemians for the “world of curators”. They also get the chance to host contests from A to Z.
With the support of my friend @liasteem the program was successfully introduced to the Steem For Ladies community.
I’ve spoken to @nahela (Colombiaoriginal) and also one of the Steemit Representatives regarding the training program and we will be making an announcement soon.
I’ve got no doubt that the moderator training program is going to be a huge success.
- Creative idea for writing
I entered this contest and wrote a post in such a manner that Steemians can see how easy it is to get content for writing a post while you are having fun.
"What can I write about?" This question is often asked by Steemians when I help them with their Steemit journey.
Content is all around us.
Support of fellow Steemians |
---|
General:
The support to my fellow Steemians is continuing not only on the platform but also in social communication applications and via email.
Africa:
I’ve made contact with the admin team of Nigeria and Cameroon. We are excited to work together to get Steemians of Africa actively involved again.
More news from Africa next week.
Issues encountered |
---|
Being so involved with the SEC Season9 the only problem I’ve encountered was related to contest posts; posts that don't qualify due to;
• Not following the rules
• Not understanding the contest
• Not following the guidelines
• So-called “fake” posts
I want to ask moderators and curators to not only double check a post for AI content but to check it three times with different tools and after that to compare the post with previous posts of an author. Fake doesn’t necessarily mean fake.
This is where I am ending my week.
Don’t be shy! If you have a question or need advice just ask.
See you next week!
I'm excited that we're working together on something that engages and supports users, as it will indirectly bring improvements for them.
Excellent report mate.
Indeed! Not to mention the improvements it will bring in the various communities.
The excitement is huge on my side also (•ิ‿•ิ)
An interesting report!! You have done some amazing work in the previous week. I am excited about seeing your new initiative too... Best regards!!
Ah! Thank you for your visit, engagement and the kind words.
I appreciate it ☕
It was a busy week but it was fruitful and in the end that is what counts.
Best of all... Steemit keeps us out of mischief.
Wishing you an awesome week.. Keep on posting, voting, commenting and power up!
