Curation Report Week #01 for August by Team Lucky Dip

Why “Team Lucky Dip?

This is a question I asked myself and which was also asked by fellow Steemians.

To get the answer I turned to Aunty Google;

Lucky dip - A game in which prizes are covered up and mixed together in a container, so that contestants can dip their hand into the container and randomly pull out a prize – this according to wiktionary.org

This is exactly what the Steemit team did.

• They created a mixed of Steemians, which don’t know each other, to curate together.
• The team can dip their “eyes” into any qualifying post, in any community and with any tag on the Steemit platform.
• Qualifying posts are then rewarded.

It was a week through which we had to meet and learn from each other. A week in which we "dipped well".
I am excited to see what the new week is going to deliver.

1. A late start

---

As the team had a late start we only had five days to finish the first week of August. It was important to give each team member a turn so that we could get use to what is expected.

This was no easy task as we are from all four corners of the world and sit with time difference on the one side and keeping the account in line on the other side. A few alarms were set in these five day.

2. Finding good posts

There are plenty of posts posted on a daily basis on Steemit, in fact, thousands!
Finding posts with good content and which qualifies was a big task.

An obstacle was qualifying posts where the authors don’t follow club status. The team will look at solution on how to encourage these user to take the first step.
