RE: Steem-Rep Rep No. 2 - Weshalb ich (k)ein guter SR bin 🇩🇪
Thank you very much for discussing my article. I hope it's okay if I reply in English - otherwise I won't know later what I was communicating with deepl.com... 😉
The "challenges" and their rules present much more intrusiveness than just the invitation. I would like to emphasise that this is not about the challenges themselves (every user can like them, if they like them, they are welcome to take part - I don't have to), but about what has become of them. What many communities have made of it, what has been blindly adopted by other communities: A contrived construct.
Your astonishment at the forced comments fits in with this. You may need to know the story behind this: People (including the Steemit team) were annoyed that the users were only chasing the big votes with blinders on for their own posts and were hardly interacting and not interested in others. The initially good idea of making communication a condition for a vote was never evaluated. The basis for a conversation is an article that you can talk about. Actually quite logical: an article that encourages interaction: comments, discussion; boring article: no comments. This is how the separation of wheat and chaff once regulated itself here on the Steem...
Have you ever looked at my "regular" posts? Pretty confusing and I'm not bribing anyone to please comment... ;-)
That's not to say that my posts are particularly great or much better than others. But I make an effort to look after them and take the time to engage with the readers. And in my eyes, that only works if you don't immediately have the next article/challenge on your mind the moment you publish it.
Very, very good - I hope you stay true to yourself!
Yes, they do exist. You don't have to look very hard in communities where there's no fighting for Booming or SC support... ;-)
Thank you for your wishes. Now I've "held out" for six years - there's still plenty of potential... ;-)
Absolutely, the way it's expressed holds meaning when leaving comments. But let me reiterate, I only engage when it doesn't go against my own understanding. That's why I've been limiting my posts to topics I'm genuinely passionate about and that align with my perspective. As someone who's nearly entirely vegan, the platform can be a bit challenging for me. What I noticed is that you're not very active, but as it became clear, you have your reasons. ; )
Excuse me? I am one of the most active users here... 😂
However, this activity is not expressed in the quantity of posts, you're right... 😉
in writing posts ; )
