Authors of drawings or works that are not original, must give credit to the original author and share reference image, otherwise it should not be monetized, and it is considered as plagiarism. It's like someone making a mona lisa without mentioning Picaso, the same thing happens in the music industry.

It is NOT the same, making something of your own, or using other people's ideas to make something new, than doing the same as others.

Here I will leave links so you can see what I mean.

Hi sis @saracampero,
Thank you so much for your advice. Actually this author's drawing is different than this. But the concept is same. He seems to have used a source to learn about it before drawing this picture. Also, almost everyone learns about handicrafts or drawing through sources like youtube first before drawing or handicrafts. Then they do the handicrafts or drawing by themselves. So does this belong to plagiarism? Can we take it as plagiarism to keep the internet and other media as a source and post a article after learning about it first and then trying it ourself ..?

We all learn something using a source and then we do it ourselves.

The drawing is 100% original although he learned from internet which we all do! No one is perfect to make such drawings and paintings by their own. Moreover we will ask the author to add the source or credit from where he got the idea.
Thanks, @saracampero for your attention.
Greetings!

I totally agree with you jane. We all learn something using a source like the internet first and then do it ourselves. No one can do anything without learning.

I understand your point of view and your opinions, they are understandable. However, there is something that goes beyond ourselves and our opinions, and that is the meaning of plagiarism.

According to the technical definition of the word plagiarism, just using someone else's idea without mentioning or giving credit is considered plagiarism. This information can be found in books or on google, simply by researching.

Even though "this drawing" was made by the author himself, the idea of this work is not original, so you must give credit to the source where you were guided.

Just by copying someone else's idea without giving credit, plagiarism is committed.

I only make a correction, with base so that they warn the user to edit and to place the real source of where it was guided.

To understand more about plagiarism, you can visit the following link:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plagiarism

cc: @janemorane, @alena-vladi, @hive-173434, @cindycam, @eliany

I understand what you are saying. This author has taken the idea from the internet and he has changed it a bit. But he may not know that it is necessary to put a link to that original idea. I'm sure most users are not aware of this. Because almost everyone thinks that pictures or paragraphs taken from the internet are plagiarism. But they may not know that the link should be shown even in such a small thing.

Thank you so much for your attention on this matter. This author has worked so hard for his drawing that he can be instructed to include the link in the original idea without proving that his article is plagiarism. Also I hope that in the future the authors will add the link even in such ideas obtained from the internet.

I think it would be good to make users aware of this fact. Because then such minor or mistakes will not happen.

Yes, many people make drawings and artwork with their own ideas, or by taking ideas from someone else and turning them into something new. But when you make a new copy of something that has already been done or something that someone else did as it is, you should always add the source or reference image, if you don't do it, the user makes you feel that the idea of the work is 100% yours, and it can be considered as plagiarism.

The issue of plagiarism goes beyond just text and images, it includes ideas, expressions, it would be considered plagiarism if the source is not mentioned, even if it is royalty free or commercial material, but you must always give credit, since original ideas always have more weight than copied ideas.

Without a doubt, this way you could differentiate and appreciate those artists who develop their own ideas with more value.

Maybe this is one of the reasons why the great artists mostly visit other publications like #thediarygame, which are 100% original articles.

Yes you are right. The author of this case has added the source from which he obtained the opinion as instructed now. I'm glad he understood this.

Actually 100% original articles can be considered as diarygame post and articles about users' daily life experiences.

Great sister, it's a pleasure to collaborate.

Me too. Thank you ☺️

Greetings to everyone! In my humble opinion if the person draws something by himself that is surely NOT plagiarism. Plagiarism is when you take someone's image and tell that it is yours. This image is not the same as the source and it was drawn by the person himself. The fact that it resembles the source doesn't prove that it is plagiarism.

Concept could be same but images are different to each other if we have a close look to it @saracampero
