True Colours 2 | Team #5: Curation Report for Week 4
Week 4 Official Report of team True Colours 2
1. Preface
Is there anything to say?
There is nothing we see that you can see if you read and let the written word sink in. Does it feel odd? Then it is and in our case, we map "odd". No, we are not looking for it but we believe that those few rules set for curator teams should and can be maintained.
Does Europe exist? What about certain other countries ignored by default and the search for content written by lesser-known Steemians, the many women enriching this platform?
With every upvote, we look at our results. We specifically look for what deserves a reward. The voting behaviour is viewed and recorded daily and if we doubt we ask. If the answer is not satisfactory we undo the upvote.
In week 4 we tried to balance the scale because what all the reports show is not a rosy result. Is it fair, and realistic to correct the lack of votes for certain nationalities/countries? Our aim is to put all the colours of Steemit in the spotlight without discrimination so we did. Right now all we have to say is that we are still left with questions. Questions that many Steemians may also be asking themselves.
This is the report on the implementation of curation activities by team 5 in statistical form.
2. The Statistics
In the fourth week of December 2024, Team 5 curated 91 posts and 130 comments. As always, this report is made by taking into account various key aspects related to the implementation of these curation activities, namely in terms of Club, Country, Community. But there is something different from previous reports, this time the True Colours Team includes new statistics, namely by Continent (included in the Geographical sub-chapter with Country) and by Gender.
2.1. The Club Count
The following table shows the number of daily votes by club.
Next is the pie chart for total posts upvoted in week 4 by club.
The tabel and pie chart of the detailed week 4 comment votes with a description of commenters' club can be seen below.
2.2. Geographical (Country and Continent) Count
2.2.a. Post v Geography
Based on the posters' country of origin, a total of 28 countries were curated by Team 05 in the fourth week, an inrease of 8 compared to last week. The top 3 countries that received the most votes from Team 05 in week 4 are 1) Indonesia (11 votes); 2) Venezuela (9 votes), and 3 countries receieved each 7 votes: USA, Unknown, and Russia. See the following images for a more detailed record.
If the data is made into a table based on continents, the following table will be found.
The bar chart looks as follows (in order from highest to lowest).
2.2.b. Comment v Geography
In terms of comments, team 5 has curated 139 comments ( an increase of 19 from previous week) from 26 countries (a decrease of 2 compared to previous week), including 4 comments made by users with unknown nationalities or countries of domicile (categorized as “Unknown”). See the following table and diagram.
The table and bar chart by continent for the data will look like the following.
2.3. Community Count
2.3.a. Post v Community
2 Communities received the most curation number for the post this week: World of Xpilar and personal blog (each 10 posts), followed by Steem Family and Italy (each 6 posts). In total team 5 curated 34 communities (an increase of 12 compared to previous week) including Personal Blog category. See the following pictures.
2.3.b. Commnet v Community
The 130 comments curated by team 5 in week 4 were spread across 42 communities, as shown in the following table and diagram.
2.4. Gender Count
Based on gender, the categories are divided into 4 types: Male, Female, Unknown, and Community (posts or comments written by community accounts).
The following table shows Team 5's curation data for posts and comments in week 4.
The bar chart is as follow.
3. The Nomination
And, the most exciting part of the report: the nomination. The 7 entries of nomination we have consist os 4 posts and 3 comments, as follows:
Nominee | 1 |
---|---|
Author | @nishadi89 |
Type | Comment |
Language | English |
Date | 26th |
Review | The commentary by nishadi89 on the article titled Booming Upvotes - Hypocrisy? is quite long -for a comment- and relevant to the themes and ideas in the article and therefore adds value to the article she commented on. And hence the conversation that the article is trying to spark becomes even more massive. Through other comments on the article, nishadi89 also presents thoughts and ideas accompanied by some relevant data such as screenshots. In any case, Vote Booming has become an interesting topic of conversation among Steemians who care about the topic. |

Date | 26th |
Review | Commenting on an article titled Short Film: The Black Hole, aminasafdar does so by looking at it from several angles, but the most interesting one is the psychological angle. Indeed, everyone must have their own opinion on a spectacle. Aminasafdar's comment adds some information that makes the article feel more complete because of it. For example, in the first paragraph he talks about the Pakistani custom of celebrating weddings, which shows the difference between his perspective today and a few years ago. It also makes for an interesting discourse tour of customs. |

Author | @destinedhanik |
Type | Post |
Language | English |
Link | Photo of the Week Contest 21 |
Date | 26th |
Review | Although the author (destinedhanik) could have come up with a more direct title, it is still an interesting read, especially for people who like unique facts about the diversity of customs or habits in societies in various parts of the world. The author submitted this post for a photography contest organized by @m-fdo. But even so, destinedhanik as the author managed to combine his photos with an interesting narrative about the customs of people in Nigeria in preparing their girls for marriage. |

Author | @galca |
Type | Post |
Language | Russian |

Date | 25th |
Review | In this photography-themed piece, Galca takes as his object a small black bird known as Jackdaws. For animal lovers, especially birds, this article can spoil them with 8 photos of jackdaws from various angles, accompanied by a light, concise narrative to accompany readers to enjoy the photos. |

Author | @rokhani |
Type | Comment |
Language | English |

Date | 26th |
Review | rokhani, as the author, replies to comment on his writings with a personal approach on almost everything coffee-related: from farm ownership, love for coffee, and the “tradition” of drinking coffee in his community and family. A fairly detailed description is achieved by the author with a string of sentences that form a fairly long comment. Not only that, he also enhances it with positive messages such as supporting each other both through comments and other interactions. Although some things can still be improved such as sentences that are too long that can be shortened or made into a few sentences, overall his comments are part of a series of comments that add value to the article itself. |

Author | @huzaifanaveed1 |
Type | Post |
Language | English |
Link | 29 years |
Date | 26th |
Review | Overall, huzaifanaveed1's piece offers an insightful and valuable look at family from the perspective of a Muslim family, but it is not only about family relationships that this piece also covers themes about life values that are relevant across cultures. The author successfully conveys the message of the importance of patience, mutual respect and commitment in building a strong family. |

Nominee | 7 |

Author | @yurche |
Type | Post |
Language | Russian |
Link | My watercolor work "Autumn in the city park" |
Date | 26th |
Review | This is an article in the art category submitted by an artist from Russia named yurche. There are 4 images that seem to be pieces of a larger image, which is a water color image of a park in his city in October during the fall season. The narrative between the images is personal and melancholic. Each image presents an angle of its own and by the time the reader reaches the end of the article, they are transported by the narrative to see the “bigger picture”. |

Exaggerating or not you are a good commenter and writer and it's good to see you are not hibernating through hte entire winter. With your comments you make every post more interesting or funnier. I thank you for that and hope you will brighten up many posts in the future. A great day/evening to you and if we don't speak in the nearest days I wish you a happy new year.

What about this😁
WOW how nice! Let's see what my next question will be...
You are not mad?
Hilarious😂😂😂
She is cringe though and he is awkward. I identify myself awkward 😂
Thank you very much for choosing my comment as the best one. It really seems that you two are doing a good job together on this platform. You speak out without fear in unfair situations and point out mistakes. I am very happy to join you for the next month.

Congratulations on your nomination. You spoke out what many might think and even more will never have a closer look at. Posts like these aren't always the first that will be read let alone understoodTa. Next to the fact you wrote a comment you also triggered more to respond which is exactly what Steemit needs; lively discussions.
Thank you for starting this and joining us.
Thank you so much dear 💕
Let's see if we make it to January. Anyway, have a great new year. @nishadi @wakeupkitty
What a pleasant surprise @wakeupkitty. It's always nice to see people understanding the meaning of my article and not just commenting or voting for the sake of it.

Just for the sake of it? I am afraid you are at the wrong address if it comes to me and voting. I am one of those rare species reading and you know what? Unlike most, I can remember who wrote what or where to find an author or article back. It must be some weird thing with my brain but we all know most people don't care if they have a message and even care less why they receive an upvote. So you might be an exception if it comes to "the reason for the vote" as well. 🤔
Sake also an interesting word

That is exactly why I mentioned that you're not one of those. Sadly, I have experienced and noticed this habit of users commenting without reading the entire article—especially in challenge posts during my time as a professor.
I know you. I’ve read your posts and occasionally your comments on other users’ posts, and I can confidently say that you're someone who always reads and understands the content before commenting. That’s exactly why, whenever I see your comment on my post, I know I’ve attracted at least one genuine reader. :)
I hope I’ve been able to convey my thoughts more clearly in this comment. :)
Wishing you a great day!
Whoaa 💪 you guys are the best on finding gems in the mud🧜🧚 reading and commenting🫣 both of you are awesome 👍 I think I don't have to spend my time looking for a best post to read or comments 🤩 I'll sit on my roof under the rambutan tree, sip a cup of coffee and wait for the TC2T (read:Tisituti) to find one and enjoy the waves on steemit 😇 Thank you 🤗

Thank you once again for this excellent report with even more tables, pies and diagrams to study. There won't be many who will but I am happy you jumped into it and made visible what we feared and tried to correct. A big compliment and hug to you.
What can I say. I love tables and numbers and charts. And PIE? Yummy! Too much love to share. Even though the late Freddie once said, "Too much love will kill you," I don't care.
A moment of silence for the legend.

Too much pie will kill you just like all aspects of life not to forget to mention a lack of fun. Boredom is a killer!
Just Eat it!
You can never be bored when you have enough tables and charts and numbers and pies.
So true and I always find something to feed you with.
Let's wait for @golden-rain to bring us the music to add to the Tsituti song and celebrate with the next pie.
☕🍀♥️
