True Colours | Team #2: Curation Report for Week 1
Scroll down to the nominees of past week
We struggled a bit with phones and wifi but we were motivated and had fun from the moment we started. We noticed after one day that by far not everyone is a commenter. It was hard to find those willing to engage and invest their time in reading, and sharing their thoughts, and ideas with the author.
What options did Team True Colours have?
We decided to do it differently and give up on the idea that we should upvote as many different Steemians as we can just to make it look like every one is willing to engage. The opposite is true so we decided to visit Steemit via the backdoor and read comments and replies only.
What we noticed
- Good commenters, those who engage and talk up and down are hard to find.
- Those willing to engage are always the same and their comments are longer and better than the average post.
- The average commenter gives nearly the same comment to everyone and is not open to answering a reply.
- A part of the good commenters only give a good, longer, or funny reply to a certain person, and if that person is not present they hardly share 3 words with other Steemians.
- Questions asked (by newbies) are rarely answered
- The average moderator just drops the report and adds some words but does not care about grammar, hashtags, or the impression a post leaves behind.
- Moderators (of newbies) do not recognize AI-created accounts and ignore questions from the team about why they didn't read the text, look at pictures, or read remarks in the comment section.
- Many reply/answer the SC, a witness, or a bot and never receive an answer.
Imagine you are polite, try to connect and out of 30 comments you write not even 1 is answered. In response to the auto-comments sent by the account @xpilar.witness True Colours rewarded the funny, good and heartfelt comments and asked if the comment is appreciated..
posts
We decided to limit our votes for posts
Reasons:
- We go for art and creativity because they are the underdogs.
Problem: The average creative mind is not too much into commenting which makes it hard to upvote. - We aim to show the true colours of Steemit with our support.
- We know that most teams will give their vote to a post instead of a comment.
posts
Team 2, SC04, tries to make clear that engagement is important. Will this message be understood? We hope so. We keep the conversation open and not only leave an upvote behind but also give tips and talk or answer questions. As a SC we believe this is what we should do even though we never all see any SC speak to us. We believe that i we expect others to engage we should be an example. Engagement is not always about typing 250+ words but making those words left behind count and indeed there are moments when just one word and emoji make a world of difference..
At the moment of writing, we upvoted 187 times

@gems.and.cookies - comment - Photo Chain - selected by wakeupkitty
A Photo Chain entry so a comment we should look at! Perfect to relax and see the fun and creative side of Steemit.
This Steemian mainly comments and why not?
The contest? Two prompts are given which can be seen in the photo. Check out his submission! No idea how to find those subjects? A little brainstorming and help is given to motivate you to enter the Italian community's comment contest. A kind word you can always be expected from this man to us he is a valuable engager and the proof there's no need to type 300+ words to reach out and connect!

@aneukpineung78 - comment - burnsteem25 - selected by wakeupkitty
Who says a comment is a quick 'thank you' and 'ok'?
This one has everything one expects to see on social media. It makes you think, shakes up the dozed off and the pictures are super.
Actually, I'm reluctant to comment on these kinds of things for several reasons, but the most important one is that my knowledge of this topic is quite limited. It's better for me just to read or even not know about it at all. But since I've been called out, as a form of respect, here’s my comment...
Tuesday
@darthnava - post - Super Ninja Boy- selected by wakeupkitty
A review about a (vintage) game! Who would not love this? Even if you are not a gamer this makes a great read and.. Those consoles are still for sale, so are the games. Darthnava you made my day!
Super Ninja Boy is a great game and is definitely worth playing. It's important not to judge it solely based on your initial impression. Give it a fair chance, at least until you've defeated the first two bosses, and then form your judgment. Enjoy!
Play it on the wonderful Super Nintendo/Super Famicom or play it on a beloved emulator.
Let's keep on gaming in the free world!
Wednesday
@tetsu26 -post - Dogs airdrops - selected by saintkelvin17
This steemian made a very well-detailed post in his entry for a contest about airdops. He tried his best to convince his readers that he didn't try to miss an airdop intentionally but he was discouraged and was lucky enough to get back in time before the mining ended. The writer concluded that he really learnt a huge lesson based on his experience.
Thursday
@eto-ka - post - Zelenogradsk in the Rain - selected by aaliarubab
A rainy day? There's no need to stay inside or say your holiday is spoiled. Grab your camera and go outside. Beauty can be found everywhere and is worth sharing.
Zelenogradsk leaves the most pleasant impression. A nice cozy city on the shores of the Baltic Sea. It is not surprising that there are many tourists here. The rain is no obstacle for them.

@janasilver - comment - Liebe - Was is das? - selected by aaliarubab
How easily we forget that love starts by loving ourselves. What is love? It's a mix of feelings worth discussing while sharing thoughts, feelings and experiences. If you can say "I", I do love me, you are able to say: I love you...
Saturday
@subkibayu - post - Let me Introduce Myself - saintkelvin17
In my daily life, there are many things that I do as a daily routine. I have to work for 8 hours a day. At night, while resting, I play chess as a hobby. Sometimes I also read articles that are trending in cyberspace.
In pursuing my hobby, sometimes I think that my hobby is just a hobby that does not bring change to my life. I was then interested in following in the footsteps of people who had joined this platform for a long time.
We are team players & operate as a team

Our special thank to @el-nailul for giving his sheet so we can document the upvotes we give.
Remember to include the name of the team member in your curation comments...
Thank you very much Sir for letting us know. We just updated the post and will add our names to the curation comments.
Alright, we didn't do that because we were already using colours to represent our usernames but now we have started putting our usernames.
Thank you, friend!
I'm @steem.history, who is steem witness.
Thank you for witnessvoting for me.

The weight is reduced because of the lack of Voting Power. If you vote for me as a witness, you can get my little vote.
Curated posts should include the curator's @name in the comments. It is very easy to understand who has curated the post. I think you can add usernames to comments if you want. 🙂
@wakeupkitty
@saintkelvin17
Take love 💕
Thanks for telling me by mentioning 😄
@wakeupkitty I have seen your efforts to support others with your kind way. Whenever some one ask us a good curator your name will come in the top of list.
We all see your efforts by reading and commenting. It is not easy to engage with others but you hardly try to do that.
Handsup for you and other curators.
I don't know their usernames but all the curators are appreciated because of their hard work as we see in the post how they managed to curate quality posts that is not easy.
The thousands of subscribers and you have to find the best ones to curate it is as difficult as finding the good people in worst world.
HANDSUP FOR YOU ALL
Thank you for your very positive comment! It is good to read some kindness.
A great Sunday to you dear
🍀♥️
Thank you for the vote of recognition!
Imut sekali kucingnya..🤍
@aaliarubab .. there's this image in the post, but you said nothing about it ...
Sorry, we show all the colours of Steemit and go for creativity! Comments are as important as the links of the nominees of the week and so is what we discovered last week
We focus on all the messages/words left behind on this platform and show them in one report.
I understand what you do, but why is this image there in this article? It has no relation with the narration below it. I guess you are mistaken with the image or with the narration. In The picture is fajrularifst, while the narration you wrote is about subkibayu.
«wow» I love the sincerity with which they express themselves, and to think that they classify me as a rare specimen for being honest, what would those who classify me as such say when reading this post hahaha.
I love the direct way of this post.
Let's see, I DON'T like to comment, I LOVE IT, I read the posts, it's the least I should do, the author takes his time and makes an effort, so my comment should be relevant, well it's my opinion and that's how I do it.
I like to make some jokes, I DON'T make fun of anyone, it's not fair, perfection is in heaven as my mother used to say, some users DON'T respond, well, I DON'T comment any more, it's that simple.
I could write more, but NO hahaha.
If you like jokes read this comment, I laughed a lot when writing it and I hope you smile.
I wish you a happy day.

Wow thank you so much True Colors team, your aim for this platform is really working hard because this team has really brought out the faces of steemians who haven't been recognized in this platform for a very long time. This is the first time my post is getting nominated and I appreciate this team so much.
The platform will really go far if we keep on having teams as unique and standard as this team. Am also now encouraged to make alot of comments and form engagement through my comments in the platform. Thank you team two for motivating me in this platform, am so happy.
I hope in the future perspective this will help to Flood Steemit with commenting activity. 😊
