Cosmic radiations effects at electronic devices
How are you? Hope so everyone would be safe and sound just like me as I am also safe Alhamdulillah...
Today I am going to share about cosmic radiations effects at electronics so let me go into depth of this topic!
If I talk about cosmic radiations then these are high energy particles which bombard earth from space and if I talk about these particles then these are causing damage to electronic components and systems that are leading cause of malfunctions bugs or errors in information and can also cause complete failure of system.
If I talk about effects of cosmic radiation at electronics then definitely they are increasing with passage of time and this is a concern mostly in defence industries and in aerospace in which electronics systems are complex for mission success.
If I talk about sources of cosmic radiations then these are coming from different sources which contains solar flares,coronal mass ejections as well as galactic cosmic rays. If I talk about solar flare and coronal mass ejections then they release intense energy from sun that can release high amount of radiation in space.
If I talk about galactic cosmic rays then they are high energy particle which are originating from outside of solar system. All This particle can travel to long distance from space and hence they penetrate in atmosphere of earth and cause damage to electronic systems in this way.
If I talk about effects on electronic components then these race cause damage to electronic components in different ways and first way is by creating single event effects that can occur if high energy particle are striking with a sensitive area of microelectronic device then as a result flip will occur due to which system malfunctions or bugs in data can occur.
If I talk about these radiations then latchup can also be caused by it which is the short circuit type occurs as a result of striking of high energy particles with semiconductor device.If I talk about semiconductors devices are those that can conduct electricity partially.
If I talk about single event effects then this is major concern for electric systems which are exposed by cosmic radiations and if high energy particle is striking with microelectronic device sensitive area then in this way it's results can occur which shows in form of flip or presence of bugs in data.
If I talk about single event effects then they can be specifically problematic for those systems that have their reliance at memory or on other type of information storing. ine sach cases single flip can cause complete failure of system or complete loss of data.
If I talk about latchup then this is sort of effect which can results if high energy particle is striking with semiconductor device and this type of effect can cause type of short circuit which is the leading cause of failure of system or another type of malfunctioning.It can cause problem for systems that have their reliance at power transistors or some type of semiconductor devices.
If I talk about total ionizing dose then it is basically measuring of amount of ionizing radiation which a system is exposing in a given time period so it can cause electric components damage especially for those which are sensitive for radiations.It's an also cause bugs in data or malfunctioning of system just like above I have explained.
