Hello Steemians♨️

Remember that you would continue to make sales even in the future if your product have more desirable qualities than it's rivalries or competing products.
On the first post, I introduced to us the concept of marketing and outlined the 4Ps of marketing. The link is below.

Now on today's post, I'll be discussing extensively on the different promotional Strategies used conventionally to in dices sales. Remember that I'm talking about promotion and not advertising as promotion is an active(ie works better than advertising) and aggressive marketing strategy while the advertising strategy is generally just mold and only convincing, it doesn't force a buyer to the doorsteps of your shop. That's why I'd rather say that it's a passive marketing strategy.
Types Of Promotional Strategies
Below is a detailed explanation of the promotional Strategies.
- Premium Offers
This is simply an offer that can come once in a very long time. It involves the use of enticing and hard to come by offers to increase sales.
An example is a milk company that wishes to make an unusually big sale from their products more than usual would simply place a label on his product that says *"Buy a carton of milk today and stand a chance to win 2 million naira( equal to 7000 steem) and one month vacation trip to Hawaii, available for 6 lucky participants in Nigeria only". Now imagine the rave and rush with which people would buy your product. Mind blowing marketing strategy in my country.
- Pricing Off
This is a strategy or method involves the reductio of the initial price the goods or services making it slightly lower in price than it competing brand of the same product. Let's take for example, a brand of milk manufacturers who really wishes to make more sales than before or more than it's competing milk manufacturers would reduce the price of his milk by 5 to-15% off.
This would make customers to patronize your more like it a no beating, I mean who wouldn't go for quality when it's quite cheaper. As far as the quality remains the same you would be top notch in milk consumption. Please note that this is a long term promotional strategy.
-Discount Sales
This is a short term but really aggressive marketing strategy and unlike pricing off, this process involves a a high reduction in sales price especially for customers who buy in commercial quantity(large quantity) or people that but quite expensive items from them. This discount ranges from 10 up to 60% off the total goods bought and for companies that also do the shipping would decide to give a discount on the shipment fee or may decide to make the shipment totally free. A perfect illustration of a company tthat uses discount sales is the Jumia Online shopping and delivery company on their Jumia black Friday sales which takes place in November every year, you can so from their website @ www.Jumia.com.
-Surprise Packages and gifts
This methof of sales making involves the attachment of less expensive but valuable gift items. The aim of this strategy is to at least make the customers see a reason to purchase your own brand rather than it's competing brands not minding the price. This process once adopted should be a continuous process as long as the company keeps wanting to make profits from their market. It is really important that for this method to be efficient you would have to label on the packets of seals of each unit of the product "Free Gifts Inside".
A perfect example of a company that uses this form of promotion is the BYC brand of singlets. Where you purchase one packet of singlets and get a unique, fancy and stylish pen and although we know that pens are cheap one would prefer to buy this simply because it has what other brands of singlets do not have, "A Gift".
-Rebranding
This simply means a manufacturer redesigning his product's deal or repackaging it. To some extent, it can also mean adding varieties of flavors of the same company's products.
A perfect example is an ice cream manufacturing company which makes only chocolate ice cream. This means that only chocolate ice cream lovers would be buying their ice cream. If the company wants to make more sales they would have to diversify their products and introduce vanilla and strawberry flavored ice creams under the same brand this mould make them even more profit and thus the concept "Rebranding".
- Bonus or extra products(Bonanza)
This form of promotion is quite easy but would involves loosing some of your products to gain customers and in some way you are not totally loosing since it would drive more customers to your own market brand.
The concept is simple "Buy 6 pairs of shoes or sneakers and get one sneakers or shoe for free." Or "buy 5 packets of milk and get one extra pack You can see that there is not much profit made by the company but this promotional strategy is really good when your market has to many competing products and yours is among the newest or least popular of all the products of the same line. One other reason why this method is efficient is because you use it until customers start seeing the goodness of your product, then you can return to normal sales. This method guarantees you more sales.
I hope you understood my little outline on the different promotional Strategies. It's is one thing to know them and another thing to apply then. It is also important that you know the duration at which you should use any of these Promotional Strategies so that you would make the most profit out of it.
It's important that you begin reading from the first article and then to the second to fully understand this topic
