Assalamu Alaikum. I hope everyone is well by Allah . My name is Mehdi Hasan. Steemit my name is @mahedi650. Yesterday I went for a walk in a nice place. The place is related to the history of Bangladesh. The name of the place is Shaheed Buddhijibi Smritsoud.

The Martyr Intellectual Memorial that I visited is located in the Rayer Bazar area of Dhaka's Mohammadpur police station. It was originally built in memory of those who were killed in the Bangladesh Liberation War by Pakistani forces on 14 December 1971. As far as I know from reading the history of Bangladesh, in 1971, two days before the surrender of Pakistani forces i.e. on December 14, Pakistani soldiers and local enemy groups Al Badr and Al Shams forces killed Bangladeshi teachers, journalists, doctors, engineers, poets and writers in a joint operation to make Bangladesh unconscious.

On the night of December 14, 1971, around 200 people including professors, doctors, engineers, artists, journalists, poets-writers from different areas of Dhaka city were gathered and executed in Mirpur and Royerbazer. For this reason every year on 14th December mourning day is observed. Every day many people come here from far and wide. The entire memorial is surrounded by brick walls.

The memorial is made of large brick walls. There is a window in between. I like to see the open sky through that window the most. A canal runs through the intellectual memorial. There is a bridge over this canal. It fills the heart to see it so beautiful.
If you ever visit, you will understand with your own eyes.

There are three main types of intellectuals. The main gate is called the cemetery gate. As soon as you enter the gate, there is a mosque, and if you walk straight through the road, there are graveyards on both sides of the road.

There are now thousands of graves here. The next gate is called Gate No. 1, through this gate you can only enter the memorial. You can exit the memorial through Gate No 2.
This was the Rayerbazar memorial I saw. Moreover, the memorial has a very large area, it was not possible for me to go around with such an area.
