In the end, they were successful. When the Shadow was vanquished, the weapon was also destroyed. Once more, the world was secure. Edward and his squad were praised as heroes as they came out of the underground facility. Edward was acclaimed as the planet's rescuer by the city's residents, who rejoiced. But Edward's trip was far from over.
