This place is known as La Campagne Tropicana, which is located along the lekki-epe expressway which is actually the outskirts of Lagos. It is an African themed beach with a lagoons and a forest resort . It has over 65 acres of palm-fringed white sand beach, river and mangrove forest

Location

The resort is located at the south-west geo-political zone of Nigeria in Lagos state to be precise but at the outskirts of Lagos State along the Lekki-Epe expressway. It will actually take a while for you to get there if you are coming from Lagos Mainland.

Access to travel or transportation to the location

I went to La Campagne Tropicana resort using a flight that was booked from Akanu Ibani International Airport in Enugu State to Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos State. The flight was a 1hour 30 mins flight but it was delayed due to some reasons which made it a 1hour 50 mins flight. When we got to Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos State, I used my bolt app to order a ride that will take us to the resort so finally, our ride arrived then we entered and started making our way to the resort. The drive from the airport to the resort was about 3 hours🤦🏽‍♂️and it was really tiring because of the usual Lagos traffic delay. Finally, we arrived at the resort then checked in and went to our reserved suite to freshen up.

Tickets/fees

When I went there, the room we chose was the executive kodi and the fee per night was 100,000 naria. My sisters had to pay for 2 nights and the executive kodi we chose had two room so I stayed alone in one room while my two sisters had to share the other room. We didn’t have to pay for parking because we actually came there with a bolt ride straight from the airport so the bolt ride just dropped us off and left.

Facilities/ conditions

The facilities provided in this resort was a parking area to ensure the safety of the vehicles of people that come to the resort and the room I stayed in which was the Executive kodi had a balcony where one can sit out and soak in the beautiful view of the Ocean . It also had a living room downstairs and two king sized bed upstairs withACs, refrigerator and DSTV so the condition of the place was so serene and comfortable. I also loved that it is a private setting which assures me of my security to a great extent.

Activities to do when in nature

The activities I enjoyed there was the evening strolls coupled with sitting outside close to the pool in the evening to enjoy the fresh breeze with a cold glass of wine. I loved their range of camping options like camping by the beach or forest to camping by the riverbank. I also loved to go out and observe the different species of plants and animals that they had there. There were palms, mangroves, epiphytes, monkeys, squirrels, mudskippers and birds such as bats, kingfishers, Seahawks, egrets and ducks. It was so delightful to watch these species at a close quarter and being an artist, the view also served as a source of inspiration.

What moments of joy and sorrow you feel

The moments of joy were the times when I go on evening strolls and try to enjoy the scenery of the resort. That feeling when the cold breeze brushes through my face or when i go to the beach and I spread my hands wide open and feel the cold breeze all over my body. Those feelings were so peaceful and bliss, they were exactly what I needed at that moment in my life. A moment of relaxation and rejuvenation😌✨

The moments of sorrow that I felt during my stay in the resort were times when I’m alone in the room then I remember my dad and how much I miss him and I end up wishing he lived longer to enjoy this type of luxury. That thought usually makes me feel sorrowful but whenever I remember the reason for the trip, I try to console myself. The plan of the trip was so that we can ease off a little bit, relax and try to enjoy ourselves because we recently buried our father.
