Hello friends, I finally found some time to post some photos I took a few weeks ago during a wonderful medieval event that took place in the municipality of Cordovado in the province of Pordenone.
It was a great experience, I had wanted to participate in this event for a long time because I am a super fan of the Middle Ages, in this beautiful village of Cordovado every year this event takes place, practically going back in time, when this country was ruled by princes and princesses.

Cordovado is a small mediaeval village, one of the most beautiful in Friuli Venezia Giulia, a region that is little known in the world. It consists only of a small castle, a few houses, and an ancient parish church that would be the town's cathedral.

hen I arrived in the village in the morning, I didn't want to miss the parade through the streets of the centre, in typical medieval costumes, in fact there is an association that practically creates costume purchases and these sets to make these events.

Before seeing the parade, I stopped by to see the village church, and did an exploration inside, I was very impressed by this church because in my opinion it is also too much for this small village.

In the afternoon at the village sports ground, medieval fights took place, there was a stage where nobles and princes sat to watch their knights fight.

Of course, no real weapons were used, the weapons you see in the photos are a reproduction of the real weapons that were used in the Middle Ages, but nevertheless it is very beautiful and exciting to see these knights fighting.

During these fights there were musicians playing medieval music, and on one side there were also stalls of craftsmen showing how leather was worked in the medieval period, something really interesting that I had never seen.

There were also people who showed how candles were made in the Middle Ages, but also how trees were cut, there was no chainsaw that could help you, you had to do everything by hand, and there were also jesters to entertain the audience, who were very nice and funny.

A sculptor was also present, showing the audience how a sculpture was made by hand of course.

my niece also wanted to use the bow, in fact you could try shooting arrows, something I avoided so as not to do any damage.

Finally, there were also some nice gentlemen who showed you how ropes are made, how you get to make very strong ropes through the art of weaving threads.
then further on there was a gentleman who explained to you the various weapons that were used for battle in the Middle Ages, and even these were practically reproductions so you could try them out freely.

so when the whole event was over, I took one last tour, to see more of this beautiful medieval village, and went home.

I hope you found my account of this beautiful event interesting, an interesting way for me to understand what life was like in medieval times.

See you in my next post, bye everyone!
