Inorganic wastes are properties that are not easily decomposed. They include plastics, robbers, fabrics, glass, bottles, papers, and other things used to package food. Most inorganic wastes decompose naturally, but it takes a long time, while some does not decompose naturally, except they are heated up or some kinds of chemicals are used to decompose them. The accumulation of inorganic wastes causes sicknesses and also give room for mosquitoes to breed.

Two Types of Inorganic wastes

There are actually three, but i will list two.

Solid inorganic wastes

The solid inorganic wastes are objects that cannot easily be decomposed. They are plastics, bottles, glass, aluminum, iron, and many more.

Liquid inorganic wastes

The liquid inorganic wastes are harmful liquids that come from productions companies.

Their Bad Effects

  • Solid inorganic wastes can cause injury on us, if they are not properly disposed. E.g iron, rods etc.
  • They cause blockage in drainages during rainy season, if they are not properly disposed.
  • They usually turn out to be homes for mosquitoes and harmful insects, thereby causing sicknesses and diseases.
  • Pilled up solid inorganic wastes, causes damages to the soil, and reduce the soil fertility.
  • They causes water pollution when thrown into the rivers.
  • Wastes from oil spillage kills the living creatures in the seas.
  • Liquid wastes causes water pollution and make it difficult for people to get water for drinking, bathing, cooking and other house hold functions.
  • The accumulated liquid wastes causes offensive odour which is harmful to humans health.

Benefits Of Inorganic Wastes

The solid inorganic wastes can be recycled and reused. E.g plastics, aluminum, bottles etc. Metals can be melted with other metals and turned to a new iron that can be useful. Inorganic wastes can generate money, because when turned to handicrafts, they can be sold and converted to money. Our urine can be used to enrich the soil, as it contains Nitrogen.

Hi @wealthmary , Thank you very much for taking the time to participate in the Steem Environment contest

That was a great writeup about inorganic waste.... inorganic waste disposal is a topic of concern here in Ghana, I wish our leaders will come read your post and see how we can benefit from inorganic waste.

Thanks so much for commenting
