My traveling part 5 🇸🇬 : The iconic lion statue, Merlion park

Hello steemian friends, let's continue my journey in Singapore. In the previous post I visited Jewel Changi Airport, from this place I then ordered an online taxi to go to the next destination, our next destination of choice was Merlion Park.

The trip took about 21 minutes and cost 22 Singapore dollars. Upon arrival at Merlion Park, the online taxi driver parked his vehicle right in the main courtyard of Merlion Park. We arrived at Merlion Park, around 1:15 pm Singapore time, Tuesday, February 04, 2025.

When we arrived at the Merlion courtyard we just went straight in, there was no admission fee to visit Merlion Park. The park is open to the public and anyone can visit this place.

I was immediately mesmerized by the vast and beautiful scenery. The towering skyscrapers around the park are a special attraction. I did not waste this opportunity to capture the beautiful moments in this park by taking pictures near the lion statue and enjoying the surrounding scenery.

Merlion Park itself is a symbol or icon of Singapore. The lion statue in this park is called the Merlion statue, this large statue shaped like a lion's head and body like a fish has become an iconic symbol of Singapore that is known by many people, if we take a photo behind this statue everyone will know where we are.

I can't imagine how I used to know the Merlion statue as a symbol of Singapore through the Monopoly game, but now I can set foot in this country and take a close photo with the iconic statue.

At the same time there were also many visitors around the statue, I noticed that they were also capturing beautiful moments when near the Lion statue, to be honest I didn't have much inspiration when I wanted to take photos when I was near this statue. But by paying attention to some other people's styles I can imitate them. Hehe.

In addition, one of the sights that is no less special is the three tall buildings in front of the Merlion park, interestingly above the building is a building that looks like a ship. The beautiful building is called Marina Bay Sands.

Around Merlion Park there are also minimarkets that sell fresh drinks and fruits, besides that there are also small restaurants that also provide fast food, but I am worried about the halal food available near this park considering my religion prohibits certain foods.

Overall, Merlion Park is a beautiful tourist destination that is a must-visit for tourists visiting Singapore, but there was one thing that left me a little disappointed.

After a while I didn't realize that my camera phone was running out of power, so I looked around the park for free electricity to charge my phone. I found some power sources but all of them were closed with locks, as well as some cafes around here they do not provide free power sources to visitors. That's all about my trip especially in Merlion Park, if you visit Singapore don't forget to visit this place.
