On this occasion I want to make a third post from this #steemjapan community, the script that I will share with this community is about noodle food.

Ayam geprek is a typical Indonesian flour fried chicken food that is pulverized or crushed with chili sauce. Now geprek chicken has become a popular dish that can be found in almost all major cities in Indonesia, but the origin of geprek chicken comes from the city of Yogyakarta.

Geprek is a Javanese term which means "beaten", "pressed", or "pulverized", so ayam geprek means "beaten chicken". This dish is similar to the traditional Javanese dish of ayam penyet, as both are fried chicken that is beaten and pressed using a pestle and mixed with chili sauce.

The difference is, ayam penyet is a traditional Javanese fried chicken that is grilled with yellow spices, then deep-fried in hot cooking oil. Meanwhile, ayam geprek is more similar to western-style fried chicken (commonly called American fried chicken), which is crispy flour fried chicken that is coated with a flour mixture before frying.

In addition to the different types of fried chicken, the way of presentation is also different. The chicken penyet is beaten and pressed using a pestle until it is flat, then the sambal is smeared on top of the chicken. Meanwhile, chicken geprek is not only beaten and pressed, but pulverized until the meat comes off the bones and mixes with the sambal. So that the process of serving geprek chicken is exactly the same as the process of making traditional chili sauces such as tempeh sauce.
