Day 870: 5 Minute Freewrite: Sunday - Prompt: wool sweater
Prompt provided by @mariannewest
The cold bit into his exposed skin as the wind continued to howl. It cut right through his wool sweater. It’s all he had to keep warm; he had given away his winter coat to another less fortunate. Now he was wondering if that had been the wise thing to do.
Still he was glad he did. The sight of another image bearer shivering in the wind, coughing, seemed to turn his insides colder than winter storm. It would at least allow the guy to make it to the his overnight shelter arrangements.
“Can I make it home from here?” The wind seemed to haunt him with the negative, but he trudged on.
Another mile perhaps, when he’d escape the cold and be able to warm himself by the heater, eat a hot meal, and drink a couple cups of tea to unthought his freezing body.
He rounded the bend and finally spotted his home. He step quickened, then he broke into a run. Home. This is exactly where I need to be, all but forgetting the piercing environment through his wool sweater.
