Symbiont

From my elementary biology, I can recall that a symbiont depends on a host, usually a larger host. But the concept of a symbiont was made clear to me from the movie, Venom. The movie is a perfect definition of a symbiont, and the relationship between them is almost inseparable.
In real life, some folks behave like a symbiont. They behave like a pest, they attach and follow someone around trying to get something from the host. Their major aim is to rob the host of all the good things they have, and when they are done, they leave them empty. This happens all the time. That's the symbiont we see around us.

A symbiont is not necessarily negative; this "parasite" doesn't harm the host. BTW a synonym for symbiont is also host, and here it comes.. Do you know that it's the name of one of the Steemit witnesses fighting downvotes?

The idea that comes with the word parasite is always negative, probably because it feeds off its host.
i agree with you, it does sound negative, the same counts for the words critique and dictator and there are many more.
