Life giving soil!
I've heard some say that soil is a living thing. I would not know but they seem to have a point and articles to prove it. Check here:

And there are living organisms in the soil. This makes it easier to believe that the soil is a living thing. For these living organisms to survive inside the soil.
Living organisms present in soil include archaea, bacteria, actinomycetes, fungi, algae, protozoa, and a wide variety of larger soil fauna including springtails, mites, nematodes, earthworms, ants, and insects that spend all or part of their life underground, even larger organisms such as burrowing rodents.link
So, we cannot say, in my opinion that the soil is life giving but it should be life sustaining, especially for this living organisms.
