Missing Stars : Possible Hint Of New Physics

There are currently two possible and experimentally confirmed ways Stars seems to varnish, supernovae and black hole formation - failed supernovae, but what if stars just varnishes without going through the aforementioned ways ?, that is they just disappear suddenly, no remnant. A recent publication containing a survey of many years suggests that some stars are currently missing, though there are other possible explanations apart from the supernovae and black hole formation, like advanced civilization manipulations.
