Pangolins or pangolins are scaly mammals that are famous for their unique characteristics. They are the only mammals covered with scales made of keratin, similar to human fingernails. Pangolins are divided into eight species found in Asia and Africa.

Physically, pangolins have bodies covered with hard scales, which function as natural protection against predators. They have a long body with a long tail, and a very long and sticky tongue that helps them reach insects in holes in the ground. Pangolins are nocturnal animals that actively search for food at night, especially insects such as ants and termites which are their main food.

Unfortunately, pangolins face serious threats from humans. They are often victims of illegal hunting because their meat and scales are considered to have high medical and culinary value in some cultures, although there is no strong scientific evidence of the medical benefits of pangolin scales.
