Exploring the heart of Mindanao - Journeying to Marawi City šµš

This is judee your travel buddy for today.
I would like to invite you to journey with me heading to the central part of Mindanao after it suffered from the Marawi siege last May 23, 2017.
So grab your pop corn and walk with me to some of Marawi attraction. š
The famous ark upon entering the only Islamic city of the Philippines
The famous landmark that portray the origins of all highway lane of Mindanao making it as the heart of Mindanao.ā„ļø
One of the most oldest museum of the country holding the oldest account of Muslim culture, traditions, and way of life.
One of the known national state college of the Philippines and one of the high ranking school in Mindanao
The famous Parking lot of the MSU mountaineering groups that advocates the rule of protecting nature.
Marawi siege uprise during the time when the maute groups who are ISIS sympathizer pledged allegiance to them.
One of their oath is to reclaim the only Islamic city of the Philippines which is marawi City.
Purge the city who are not Muslim by faith and also those Muslim who are not practicing their religion seriously.
The fight between the Philippine army and the maute group took six months of gun fight and bombing until the Philippine government declare total win from the militants.
The marawi siege have displaced around 300,000 familes. Killed nearly 1,200 rebels and officers in uniforms.
Almost 10 billion of infrastructure were damaged and ruined. Up until now the marawi City is still in the process of rebuilding itself after almost four years since the 2017 battle.
The city is coming to life but the trauma and fear always resides in the hearts of many maranao settlers.
