Memories from SaintMartin Island | My Entry to the 'Holiday Time Contest'

It was a good decision indeed to visit the SainMartin Island of Bangladesh, even in this Pandemic. Otherwise, we may not get the chance again in many days and have to stuck at our home for very long!

I'm talking about our last family trip to the SaintMartin Island of Bangladesh. It was in November 2020. Covid's situation became a little normal back then. We were staying home for a very long and finally decided to visit the Island. And now I can say, it was a good decision. We were safe and healthy, and the moments we made were unforgettable!

The Island's name is 'Saint Martin Island'. This name sure gives you an idea about colonization. This is the official name. But locally people call it 'Narikel Jinjira' which means 'coconut Island' in our native 'Bangla' language. It's located in the southern part of Bangladesh, actually the last point on the map. We had to travel almost 14 hours by bus and ship to reach this Island. Here is the exact location of the place. You can also click on this WiKi link to know more about this place.

The spot got an entrancing view, it's worth travel such countless hours without a doubt. Furthermore, due to the Covid circumstance, there were only a few tourists. So we had the opportunity to get the sanity of nature. The sea shore used to be practically empty during the early morning and after 12 AM. The spot is exceptionally safe, so I used to stroll around the sea shore during those hours.

You can see, why it got the name Coconut Island. The whole Island is full of thousands of coconut trees. You will get to see many street vendors or small crats are selling coconuts. Don't miss the change. Because the coconut water and the white flesh inside of the coconuts are absolutely delicious. They are very refreshing, have a fizz in them which you may not find in any other places.

So these are some valuable remembrances I got about this Island. As I was saying, the more I consider our outing the more honored I feel now. Since we are in another lockdown, the Covid circumstance is deteriorating and perhaps we won't make another outing at any point shortly.

We have to live with these memories...
