RE: WSP Official Announcement: 1st Assessment for World Carbon Program
Overhere I hear a lot of blah blah blah if it comes to carbon footprints while at the same time each tree is cut and parks are removed just like the last green (farmers). Instead the #2 (building/renovating houses) on the list is booming. It all doesn't make sense to me and by now I am allergic to the word 'carbon'.
Since this project is the opposite of what is done here I can only be enthusiastic! Actually, I am super enthusiastic since it feels as if "plant a tree day" is back! Next to that this project will benefit animal life and the fishermen. All I can say is: Super!
You have my support and 'll see what I can think of to do so.
👍🍀❤️
This project is simply to replace the mangrove that has been cut/destroyed by the fish pound owner (who is wealthy and lives in a luxurious house with air cond). The same case is also here. The government grand access to destroy the forest for "investors" to plant palm oil and the other hand arrest local residents to make a simple hut using the trees they grow by themselves.
The goal of what we are doing is only to encourage the local residents to keep some of the trees and replace them with new ones, at least they can keep up those trees for their own good and keep the source of their income (fishing resource). Because we will plant most of those trees on their land and the benefit is directly for them, I hope they will protect it for a while. I won't be involved with officials or government institutions since they will seek personal profit from the project as I have experienced.
It's a good plan especially if people are given the responsibility to take care of their oemwn trees and think a bit ahead.
A neighbour wanted to cut all trees. I told her better leave 1 meter so they grow back again and take care of the water and soil. It will all flush away once it starts raining.
It takes long to replace a tree, manyyears plus the cut tree will set free water plus all the toxic it absorbed during it's life. The more trees are planted the better.
How did that person became the owner.
I hope people keep building their huts and ignore. Here we are not allowed to do anything without lermission of the city, not even choose the paint of your house or gate.
